Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Korrekt Koordinaten + Positioun

Moien,

Ech hu bei enger Rei Biller vun Iech d'Koordinate verbessert. Leider kann een déi net einfach vun der Kaart op Geoportail esou iwwerhuelen, mä et muss een d'Wäerter ëmstellen, soss kritt een eng Plaz iergendwou am Mier eraus. Wahrscheinlech gëtt et nach méi Biller déi misste verbessert ginn, ech hunn dat elo net nogekuckt.

Et wier och wichteg drop opzepassen op mat de Koordinaten d'Kamerapositioun oder d'Positioun vum Haaptsujet vum Bild gemengt ass. Wann een d'Bild eroplued huet een automatesch d'Kamerapositioun (= Location) uginn. Wann een d'Objektpositioun wëll ugi, muss een dat nodréiglech änneren (= Object location).

Ech hunn elo bei der Geographesch Breet gesinn, datt et am Fong eng Konventioun gëtt fir d'Breet ëmmer fir d'éischt unzeginn, dann eréischt d'Längt. Fiwat datt de Kadaster dat op Geoportail anescht mech... Ech froen do emol no.

Scalable Vector Graphics are designed to look appropriate at any scale, and SVG images are easier to modify and translate, helping Wikimedia to distribute knowledge to all of the world. ich bin auf das Bild gestoßen und vermute der Text enthält zwei Tippfehler: princpale und garnision
Ich glaube es muss heißen: principale und garnison
Da ich nicht weiß, ob es in Luxemburg Besonderheiten gibt, möchte ich fragen wie Du das siehst.
