Non-free frame revdel[edit]

Hi, thanks for having removed so many frames. After you upload a new version, however, the version with the frame should be deleted. It is best if you tag the image with {{Non-free frame revdel}}, as written in the instructions. Thanks and best regards, --Eleassar (t/p) 20:18, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thank you for your advice. I'll try to be careful. Should I look for the files to it? Best Regards.François de Dijon (talk) 20:29, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Bien Cordialement

It would be welcome. I've tagged the files related to Slovenia, as far as I have spotted them. Regards, --Eleassar (t/p) 20:34, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your response, I'll do it.Regards,François de Dijon (talk) 20:37, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I suggest that you should not use {{Non-free frame revdel}} for this. There is only any point to deleting the original file if there are non-free elements (such as a physical frame around a painting).
Having the original JPG available does not harm (deletion doesn't save space) and may be beneficial - if the border removal was not lossles, its best to do further edits from the original not the cropped version.--Nilfanion (talk) 21:21, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I just do it for all files modified yesterday and today. Should I cancel these actions?François de Dijon (talk) 21:26, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If there isn't that many files it might be easier - but it depends if image is of a painting, and if there is a frame showing. File:Srečko Magolič - Bled.jpg should have the template applied, but there's no need on File:006 Govan Docks (5143951296).jpg--Nilfanion (talk) 21:39, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure I understood. This model it concern photos with a frame or paints which part was removed?" Thank you to confirm me.François de Dijon (talk) 21:48, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What should I do for this type of painting rich environment ? François de Dijon (talk) 22:08, 21 May 2013 (UTC)File:Domenico Beccafumi - Public Virtues of Greek and Roman Heroes- The Sacrifice of King Codron of Athens - Google Art Project.jpg[reply]
If the surrounding is simple - don't tag. If its a complex frame (like this) - tag it.
However, if the surrounding is clearly public domain don't tag. Everything in File:Domenico Beccafumi - Public Virtues of Greek and Roman Heroes- The Sacrifice of King Codron of Athens - Google Art Project.jpg is 500 years old, so no need to tag that.
Hope that is clearer.--Nilfanion (talk) 23:04, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for these explanations. I just delete unneeded changes.François de Dijon (talk) 07:34, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Per [1], "everything that could cast a shadow is excluded". The complexity and the age of the frame are completely irrelevant. --Eleassar (t/p) 08:17, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cordialement, --Eusebius (talk) 08:24, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This makes it well, it's great. François de Dijon (talk) 05:23, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I had forgotten I had taken some pictures from a single point at Wheeler, even though its not the best view in all quadrants, it would be awesome to get a panorama out of this if you're willing... might have to break it between the northwest and north facing pictures since I noticed that was the least overlap... https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Views_from_Wheeler_Peak_%28Nevada%29 Famartin (talk) 01:47, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, here is the result. I had some problems, I hope the result will suit you. Both software I use gave a very different result. By not selecting the view "East" that seemed to work better. In fact there was a large defect in the assembly of the first plan in this area. Cordialement. François de Dijon (talk) 13:55, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
File:Panorama from the summit register on Wheeler Peak.jpg
Thanks so much! It looks great! I was able to do a manual (if you'll pardon the expression) "ghetto" edit and added in the east image... thanks again! I just added that to the Wheeler Peak (Nevada) article on Wikipedia. I actually had another one, if you don't mind, as I realized I had more shots from a single point for another peak... you'll probably want to begin with the southwest view and end with the south-southeast view here as there is virtually no overlap there, I think, hopefully otherwise you don't have issues with this one: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Views_from_Spruce_Mountain_%28Nevada%29
The addition of the photo is successful! It's great.
Here's the new view, I hope you agree. Greetings. François de Dijon (talk) 18:34, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not bad. Clouds kinda came out a funky color in that left section... no way to fix that? Otherwise looks nice! Famartin (talk) 09:27, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I did a test for improvement. If this does not suit you I will restore the previous version. Generally I did not change colors for your joints, leaving the software do its own corrections. François de Dijon (talk) 10:00, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm... looks the same to these tired eyes... but its nearly bed-time for me. After I've gotten home and had some sleep I'll take another look. Thanks though! There was one more (seriously, just one, after this I have to go out and take new pictures!) I was wondering if you could look into... I think they all overlap but not by much. If its no trouble... https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Views_from_McAfee_Peak Famartin (talk) 10:53, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sweet dreams. Here's a new version. The software was truncated view of the north. Lacking the small mound of stones left on the panorama !
Very nice! Thanks so much! Any luck with that last one? Famartin (talk) 17:25, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Murasson Panorama[edit]

A votre service.

Thank you for participating in Wiki Loves Monuments 2013! Please help with this survey.

Dear François de Dijon,
Thank you for contributing to Wiki Loves Monuments 2013, and for sharing your pictures with the whole world! We would like to ask again a few minutes of your time.

Thanks to the participation of people like you, the contest gathered more than 365,000 pictures of cultural heritage objects from more than 50 countries around the world, becoming the largest photography competition to have ever taken place.

You can find all your pictures in your upload log, and are of course very welcome to keep uploading images and help develop Wikimedia Commons, even though you will not be able to win more prizes (just yet).

If you'd like to start editing relevant Wikipedia articles and share your knowledge with other people, please go to the Wikipedia Welcome page for more information, guidance, and help.

To make future contests even more successful than this year, we would like to invite you to share your experiences with us in a short survey. Please fill in this short survey in your own language, and help us learn what you liked and didn't like about Wiki Loves Monuments 2013.

Kind regards,

the Wiki Loves Monuments team
