Flickr reviewing[edit]

Hello, and thank you for your application to be a flickr reviewer. The application has been removed as successful, and you've been added to the list of reviewers. Congratulations! Please see Commons:Flickr images if you haven't done so already, and the backlogs at Category:Flickr images needing human review and Category:Flickr review needed. A helpful script for easy-tagging flickr images is at importScript('User:Patstuart/Flickrreview.js'); (which you can add to your monobook.js), and you can add {{User reviewer}} or {{User trusted}} to your user page if you wish. Thank you for your work on Commons! :) –Juliancolton | Talk 01:25, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Marking as copyvio[edit]

Hi, thank you for helping reviewing images from Flickr!

When you review Flickr images you might want to leave a "manual notice" to some users. For example this image File:Minangprocession.jpg had the following text "Permission provided by Marc-Antoine Dunais via email for distribution under the following license:..." but you left a note to uploader saying "Pay attention to copyright". To me that sound a bit "hard" considering that the uploader did ask for a permission to use it under a free license.

Sadly the uploader did not forward it to OTRS in March 2007 (actually I do not know when OTRS started). With no permission we can either trust the uploader or delete the image. But first step could be to leave a note saying "Hi! Do you still have that permission?" and if there is no reply next step could be a deletion request. Result might be the same but that way uploader does not get a big red notice telling him/her to pay attention to copyright. --MGA73 (talk) 11:33, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, its unfortunate the image was deleted without sending a notice to me first. In fact I still have the email from the author of the image providing permissions to use it under the CC licence. MGA73, could you please restore this image so I can forward the email about it to OTRS? Thanks. (MichaelJLowe (talk) 13:17, 5 April 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Flickr review notice[edit]

File:Finnish_tabloid_sized_newspapers.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Hi Fr33kman, You marked the file as copyvio, and mentioned that the source was licensed cc-by-nc. This is incorrect. I think you overlooked that when you move the cursor over the pictures at the source page, the description changes in the window at the right hand side. The first two of three pictures are licensed "No Rights Reserved". Please correct your marking. Kind regards, Lymantria (talk) 07:07, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that. It was late at night in my defense :) fr33kman 14:40, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Kind regards, Lymantria (talk) 15:24, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiwal is Dennis Wubs[edit]

Dear Sir or Madam,

The next time that uploader Wikiwal uploads images from his Dennis Wubs account, please do not tag them as 'copy vio' because there is an OTRS ticket for his pictures as this long discussion between Admin Jcb and Adrignola shows. The Ticket number is 2011061510013551. Jcb was able to confirm that the uploader is in fact Dennis Wubs by contacting him previously. Adrignola and I discussed the OTRS problem on his talkpage earlier and there were no hard feelings. Best wishes, --Leoboudv (talk) 22:33, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

We're not the same person. --Wikiwal (talk) 08:58, 20 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
