Shinto lantern[edit]

Hello Fg2,

Could you explain where exactly in Japan have you taken this great photo? Pixeltoo 02:13, 26 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Aso Jinja, Tokyo

Thanks for the compliment!

Wow, thank you for all the great pictures! I especially like the large ones. silsor 07:48, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Thanks!

Please link images[edit]

Hello - thank you for providing images to the wikimedia commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to the commons should be useful to all users of wikimedia projects - this is possible only if the images can be found by other people. To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should either place the images on topic pages (galleries), or put the images directly into a category, or do both. Which of those possibilities is preferred is however a matter of debate, see here.

The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There is a large number of completely unsorted images on the commons right now, see Commons:Really unused. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do! Thank you. -- Duesentrieb 21:59, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I do. These will all go in Kyoto, where I linked several images already today. If there's a problem with the way I've been doing this, please let me know so I can fix it. Thanks Fg2 22:02, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)
sorry, i was just impatient:) I try to keep uncategorized images on the commons to a minimum, so i'm sometime a little rash with telling people to link their stuff... thanks for the grate images! -- Duesentrieb 00:50, 7 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I've seen some good photos recently that haven't shown up in the categories or articles I imagined they would. I agree that it would be a shame if nobody could find them! Fg2 08:51, 7 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I would be great if you could help to spread the word! To tell people they should put their images in categories and/or gallery pages, I use Template:Please link images, which produces the text above. You can place it on a users talk page like this: {{subst:please link images}} -- ~~~~. In cases where more info is missing (most importantly the license) ther's Template:Please tag images, which can be used in the same way. Thanks for helping! -- Duesentrieb 12:43, 7 Apr 2005 (UTC)

old/better version[edit]

you can just upload a better version of a photo when you use the same name like the old version. You will be asked if you really want to replace this old picture and a new version of the image is created, so everybody already using the old picture doesn't have to do anything, the better one will instandly appear. Btw. that are some really nice pictures you uploaded :) -- Gorgo 11:33, 28 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I thought I was doing that and was surprised when I didn't get the confirmation dialog. Turns out I had various versions with different names, and wrongly assumed the name I chose (which duplicated the name of one older version) was the name of the version I'd uploaded to Commons. I'll try again... And thanks again. Fg2 11:53, May 28, 2005 (UTC)

Kegon falls[edit]

I deleted the old version as requested + changed the photo in Tochigi Prefecture, but left en:User:Fg2/Photos by Topic and en:User:Fg2/Photos by Place to you. Thuresson 6 July 2005 13:09 (UTC)

Thanks. I saw the change in Tochigi Prefecture. Had forgotten I'd put the picture there. Thanks for changing that. Fg2 July 6, 2005 21:12 (UTC)

Red Brick Office in Sapporo[edit]

Hello. I put captions to your fine photographs in Sapporo. I could not identify the photograph with cameraman, but the other two show the shape and the red star of the building. Please check and modify my compositon for good Englsih. Thank you. -- Kinori 02:50, 25 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the reply. Your many photographs has delighted the users of ja.wikipedia. If you don't dislike, I'd like to put captions to some of them (mainly in Japanese). Is it OK for you? -- Kinori 22:59, 26 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Tosyogu[edit]

While I corrected categories, I found article of Toshogu includes no images, and deleted. Of course your policy is better. Thanks for correction. Haragayato 00:51, July 31, 2005 (UTC)

PS:By the way, your recent photo of Kiyomizu-dera is very nice! Haragayato 14:06, August 2, 2005 (UTC)

PD-user[edit]

Please use {{PD-user|Fg2}} instead of plain {{PD}} for your own images. --EugeneZelenko 03:34, 5 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Genbaku Dome[edit]

Now that we have a category for Category:Genbaku Dome, I can see that you've uploaded quite a few good pictures of the dome. Excellent range and variety of perspectives - well done. -- Solipsist 08:48, 20 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Hello. My name is Toki-ho. I prepared a picture of a "Logo " into the material with your photograph. In JaWikipedia, We use it for a category of Japanese traditional theatre work "Noh". Thank you. We hope that you still take splendid photographs all the time. Toki-ho 03:08, 1 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

StationMusicians1357.jpg[edit]

Hello there Fg2,

If you happen to have a higher resolution version of StationMusicians1357.jpg, I'd absolutely love to have it, if you wouldn't mind sending me. The higher the resolution, the better, heck, I'd even print it as a poster, it is absolutely beautiful. Please reply either here, or even better, contact me on my meta talk page (link in my signature).

Thank you in advance! --Totti (talk) 22:04, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Numbers[edit]

Hi, You can put them together to make phone numbers, social security numbers etc. They have to be kind of computer-ish to do that. NumberOne 10:07, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Copyright status[edit]

Hi EugeneZelenko, I'm sorry I forgot to put a copyright status on a file. If you encounter any more of mine, please let me know. I've started watching files I upload but with a thousand or so already on Commons I don't watch them all, so I might not know you've put a notice there. I've tagged it pd-user. Fg2 05:26, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I just walked through Special:Unusedimages and didn't have time to notify somebody personally. I just grep it again for your name and found another untagged file: Image:Musi-No-Koe2.ogg. --EugeneZelenko 15:04, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this page is empty, if you don't plan to add media content in it, please put de {{delete}} template. Thanks Anna 23:09, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Picture of the Marcel Junod Monument[edit]

Hi there, I would like to thank you for the excellent picture of the Marcel Junod Monument in Hiroshima. I added it to the articles about Marcel Junod in the English and the German Wikipedia. Sincerely Yours, --Uwe 08:33, 30 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
