Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

No, you cannot issue a valid copyright license to other people's works that you grabbed off the Internet. Only the legitimate copyright holder can issue a valid license. And if you're ever unblocked, you should know that reuploading previously deleted copyright violations will get you blocked again.

What you did was not just "a mistake". You repeatedly uploaded files that you falsely claimed that you had created yourself when you knew that wasn't the case, and you repeatedly uploaded files that you falsely claimed had been published under a free license by their copyright holders when they were in fact completely non-free. You were told many, many times to stop. You were even blocked once before. Despite all this, you continued to charge ahead with yet more copyright violations over the course of more than one year. That's not just "a mistake" – that's a persistent habit. Please understand that making false claims about the authorship and licensing of copyrighted works is a criminal offense. The deletion of the files and the blocking of your account is as much to protect yourself from your own actions as it is to preserve the integrity of this project. —LX (talk, contribs) 12:04, 19 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I will not pretend to have not claimed anything for myself .. I am a photographer and I have served on images for use on Wikipedia .. my photos under license personal work. The images that were not taken by, and which I do not have the rights for it, I always type links, sources and license .. if the license a mistake must assist alerts the user in a language in order to understand what is happening and rectify the error. --Faisal Al-Abdullah (talk) 16:03, 19 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You continued to upload a large number of copyright violations (non-free Internet images with completely made-up licensing claims and in many cases false authorship claims) in spite of multiple warnings and in spite of a previous one-week block. Maybe I have a problem in determining the appropriate license for the pictures, but this does not mean that I presented here to lie or falsification of facts. "Determining the appropriate license for the pictures"? For most of these photos, there is no appropriate license, because they haven't actually been published under one by their legitimate copyright holders. You seem to be under the mistaken assumption that you've made some minor technical mistake that could easily be corrected when in fact we're dealing with photos that are completely non-free and simply cannot be uploaded to Commons. You're welcome to come back and appeal the block, but you should make sure you understand what this project is all about first. One of the reasons leading to mistakes and breakthroughs, for example, that page what you give me -Commons:Project scope/Summary- is not translated to clarify the meaning of the summary or licenses! and other some pages talking about Policies licenses images!! Why didn't translate into Arabic language!? I am a believer that there is always mistakes occur .. but blocking is not the only solution to correct the wrong, which is unacceptable because there are a lot of policies and the information in the Commons is not clear at all .. . because of the negligence of some languages! Your talk page above and the archive is full of {{Copyvionote}} messages – and that template has been translated to Arabic. If you didn't understand what you were receiving so many warnings, perhaps you should have asked at Commons:الميدان if someone could help translate some policies and basic help pages instead of just ignoring the warnings. I am so sorry i asked some of my friends about the policies of Commons, and I understand now that the special status of Commons policies, I did not understand in the past some of the policies which brought me from participating in the blocked until this day ..
