Hi, I noticed you nominated to delete several things I've upload over the last few days. The materials I uploaded are from the 2017 New York City Single Payer Conference that my organization, Healthcare-NOW, hosted. We have permission from all conference attendees and presenters to upload their materials and add them to our wiki. We would like to add the materials so any concerned citizens can have access to current actions, studies, and research carried out on health insurance reform in the United States. We believe this to be very valuable information.

How can I improve the quality of our files so they are not deleted? What mistakes do I need to correct? C

You deleted nearly all my images after I asked for a warning if this would happen so I could back them up. I even offered to improve the sourcing material and verification of the images if you deemed it necessary. Instead, you deleted all my pictures without warning. Two years of contributions! Is there any way I can get them back just to save them onto my computer and possibly re-post the ones I can get the proper licensing for? DaWulf2013an you remove your request for deletion? What are the next steps? I don't want to lose all the materials I've uploaded. Hope all is well. Best- Luke

Добрый день! Вы правы - я попытался улучшить сделанные ранее фото, в том числе и путем сканирования приличного отпечатка (к сожалению, оригиналы утеряны из-за поломки жесткого диска, а условия для съемки сейчас не очень хорошие). Если это противоречит правилам, файлы конечно следует удалить. Сегодня-завтра я попытаюсь повторить съемку. В любом случае благодарю за полезное "вмешательство". It was discussed in Commons:Deletion requests/File:Gothic Logo.png, where Jameslwoodward claimed that fancy fonts do not make an all text logo copyrightable. Tutte le immagini sono di domonio pubblico e con licenza di libera distribuzione, il file etsi dei filius è di dominio pubblico perchè parliamo di un documento ASV di papa Leone XII ed ha valore enciclopedico per via del fatto che disciplina a norma del diritto canonico la vita di una congregazione e di fatto rende la congregazione degli oblati di Maria Vergine di Diritto pontificio e non di diritto diocesano e questa distinzione è di fondamentale importanza per chi studia la storia della congregazione.

I've had a question about the licensing of that file on the commons help desk for a couple of days under the heading "questions re File:Actincrenactin2016ogg.ogg", so I am aware of licensing concerns. Wow, this is getting more confusing by the moment. Just before uploading the .ogg file, I uploaded the file at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:BiteMejpg.jpg The, the wizard asked if I wanted to upload more files, so I then uploaded the .ogg file, and somehow the info about the biteme file got onto the .ogg file. At least I think that's what happened. I'm going to try to correct it, and, needless to say, I will never let the wizard allow me to upload another file without closing it first! On the complaint raised from Vituzzu user concerning alleged copyright infringement of the photos I used, I would like to point out that the photos in question are the property of the character object on the page, they refers to things made by him, they are also available on its official website. Earthquake in Ecuador 16 Apr. 2016

Sorry that I was unable to continue on Wikipedia after uploading figures and text regarding the earthquake mentioned in this title. I was moving from one continent to another. Apparently the figures and text have all been deleted. I will upload them again, but may need help in giving sources that satisfy you. Please not that I am the only one in the world who can do these estimates of fatalities after earthquakes. This is a serious first rate contribution. These photos were actually portrait that I retrieved from a local Pakistani journalist as hard copy, and scan it in my computer. That local journalist gave me verbal permission to use and publish it as my own work. The pictures were bad shape both physically and both detailing. I had to put some amount of time and technical work into it. These photos were taken with other people therefore I cropped each and every photos and did little bit of graphic detailings to make it more visible and presentable. I also got permission from these two gentlemen to publish their photos on WikiCommons as my work. If photographer could not be traced, you should look if these photos in public domain as anonymous works in country of origin. See Commons:Copyright rules by territory.

If photos are not in public domain, but you father was copyrights owner (like paid for doing them), his heir(s) own copyrights. Permissions/confirmations in such cases are handled via to Commons:OTRS (example: Commons:Email templates). Please note that such permission is needed from each heir.

Otras son de mi propio trabajo. Pero siempre he tenido problema al momento de subirlas ya que la información sobre las licencias en solo en inglés, y no todos lo los usuarios los manejamos.

Quisiera que alguien me pudiera asesorar, para no ver mi trabajo como un fracaso, ya que ha sido arduo si buscan mi historial. I hope I can clarify. As mentioned in my comment, the link at http://cocatalog.loc.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?DB=local&PAGE=First should constitute clear proof - this is the exhaustive, official database of the United States Copyright Office, listing every copyright filed in the USA from 1978 to present. The reason I've provided a link to the Wikipedia article related to these pictures at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orson_Welles_Paul_Masson_adverts is so that you know what to look for, and can independently verify that the adverts in question were never registered for copyrights. As you can see from a search of the copyright database, there have been 64 Paul Masson copyrights registered since 1978 - however, going through the list, you will see 63 of the 64 copyrighted adverts were from 1987 onwards; in other words, they could not possibly have been copyrights for the Paul Masson advertising campaign with Orson Welles which ran from 1978 to 1981! Only one Paul Masson copyright dates from the period in question - 1979 - and as you will see from the corresponding description at http://cocatalog.loc.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?v1=35&ti=26,35&Search_Arg=paul%20masson&Search_Code=TALL&CNT=25&PID=eeU1l_a1sBlrdQ-TaULph-xIwG&SEQ=20170219081732&SID=10 this was for a "Paul Masson marathon start", which bears no relation whatsoever to the advertising campaign set out in some detail in the Wikipedia piece at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orson_Welles_Paul_Masson_adverts , and the corresponding screenshots I've uploaded to Commons.

(Actually, I can tell you the behind-the-scenes reason why the adverts in this series were never copyrighted - the advertising agency which handled the campaign was fired by Paul Masson, and so saw no reason to do work registering an advert they were no longer working on; while Paul Masson saw no reason to file a claim for an advert they were no longer running, done by an agency they were no longer hiring.)

So the reason the adverts from 1978-81 are in the public domain is that no copyright was ever filed within the five-year window for them to do so, and so by default, they are public domain. Apologies for the incorrect tag the first time around - as I said, I'm fairly new to Commons. But I've taken a fair bit of advice over the last few days, and it's only further confirmed my view that these adverts (and therefore any screenshots from them) are indeed demonstrably in the public domain.

Разрешение надо получить от правообладателя (фотограф? изображённая персона?) и послать разрешение в Commons:OTRS (пример: Commons:Email templates). Потом Вы можете попросить помощи на Commons:OTRS/Noticeboard с проверкой разрешения.

Права на оформление дипломов принадлежит организации, их выдающей. Думаю, что получить разрешение будет гораздо сложнее, если возможно вообще.

Название это же. Просто я лоханулся и при загрузке нового файла присвоил ему старое имя, а под старым именем Irina Lachina.jpg находилась другая версия этого фото: обрезанная и обработанная автором. Good morning,

I'd like to have informations about deletion of File:Paladins_logo.png. It's a videogame official logo, and by uploading it I made sure to read every possibile guide about licensing etc... plus I took inspiration from File:SMITE_logo.png, image that's currently accepted.

I need help

Greetings from Chicago! I was recently at Flickr and a found this image of Hal Holbrook -> [8] which had "© All Rights Reserved" so I emailed the author of the image Mr. John Mathew Smith where he gave me full permission to upload it to WikiCommons as long as it is attributed to him when uploading (similar to Gage Skidmore and his photographs). I have spent a huge amount of time on selecting the best available for logos for Wikipedia articles wirhour them. I am familiar with the "educational purpose" of Commons—even the briefest examination of my contributions will show this. Do you know what it's like to wish that a fellow editor would show some appreciation for what I do? And far from recognizing the good work I do, you decide to say it is worthless. Why is Helena Espinosa Berea's photo set for deletion?

Like you, I am a person committed to the Wikipedia foundation. I'm a Wikinomo user.

I am a university teacher in Mexico. I invite my students to write to Wikipedia twice a year. In total, my students have written 274 articles.

I have written 21 articles and have done 3 translations.

From the photo, I am the girl that is with Mrs. Helena Espinosa Berea. The photo is from 1951. The photo was taken originally by my father, José Luis Silva Durán.

Because I asked him, for the article, my son, Alonso Mejía Silva, who is a photography professional, took the negative - almost destroyed by time - from the family archive, to work it.

He worked the material, scanned it, retrieved the photo, gave it light, recreated it, and so on. That was in March 2017.

My dad is dead. The legitimate heirs of the rights of the photo are us. We are very happy to transfer the rights as CC to Wikimedia Commons and its users.

I ask you to please write us exactly what we have to put in the wording of the allocation of rights, so that it is clearly and correctly established.

Ms. Espinosa Bearea was one of the first kindergarten teachers in Mexico. Getting information to write something about her was quite difficult. There are no photos of her in dictionaries or other sources. It is the few that exist. I do not want to say the only one, but I do not know any other.

I hope your help for the correct wording to yield the rights of the photograph.

De la foto, soy la niña que está con la Sra Helena Espinosa Berea. La foto es de 1951. La foto la tomó originalmente mi papá, José Luis Silva Durán.

Porque se lo pedí, para el artículo, mi hijo, Alonso Mejía Silva, quien es un profesional de la fotografía, tomó el negativo -casi destruido por el tiempo- del archivo familiar, para trabajarlo.

Él trabajó el material, lo escaneó, recuperó la foto, le puso luz, lo recreó, etcétera. Eso fue en marzo del 2017.

Mi papá está muerto. Los legítimos herederos de los derechos de la foto somos nosotros. Estamos muy contentos de ceder los derechos como CC a Wikimedia Commons y a sus usuarios.

Le pido que nos haga el favor de escribir exactamente qué tenemos que poner en la redacción de asignación de derechos, para que quede clara y correctamente establecido.

La Sra. Espinosa Bearea fue una de las primeras maestras de jardín de niños que hubo en México. Conseguir información para escribir algo de ella fue bastante difícil. No hay fotos de ella en los diccionarios, ni en otras fuentes. Es las pocas que existen. No quiero decir la única, pero no conozco ninguna otra.

Espero su ayuda para la redacción correcta para ceder los derechos de la fotografía.

Petition to undelete image

The-Poetry-Society-of-New-York.gif was deleted but it does not violate any copyrights. I contacted the founders of the society to verify it same have it writing that there is no copyright and that it is free to use for anyone and in fact the founders encourage it.

MifterBot (config error, now fixed)

Hi Eugene. I wanted to stop by and leave you a note as it looked like you had been monitoring the progress of my re-approved bot (I appreciate you keeping an eye on it). While I was checking on it I noticed that it was in the process of leaving more notifications that had been allowed in the config. Therefore I immediately stopped the bot mid-run and upon examination I noticed that Zhuyifei1999's patch had renamed the variable from the initial version to the final version (going from "maxusernotif" to "maxusernotify") which I did not catch it when transferring the test config to a permanent solution. I have reverted the excess notifications, corrected the configuration (so this will NEVER occur again), and left a note on the affected user's page. As I said on the request for approval I agree we should not spam a user's talk page and I wanted to apologize for my not seeing the setting change. Image up for deletion

The image entitled "Angolasaurus life reconstruction.jpg" is indeed mine, indeed you may be able to see that the last name of the signature is the same as in my username. I don't know why my image was on that site, but I was credited there as author of the image. A reverse image search could have linked you to my Twitter page where I posted it was well, of which the username is again the same as my Wikipedia username. The image size is additionally not that small compared to the other image on this page, which you seem to find no problem with. I am sorry the EXIF is missing, and I will try to remedy that as soon as possible, but please when attempting to remove other people's work, ensure you actually have a reasonable motive to do so first.

Actually, I tried to upload an SVG version of this, but the uploader said my SVG is corrupted. I created the graph with draw.io, and the SVG file that's generated by the drawing tool seems to have some incompliances with the SVG standard. It is otherwise fine and opens up nicely on all my computers. If you've got another way to draw SVGs online, I think I'll remake it. Bluedeck 19:40, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Cover art usage

Hello Eugene! I write you about the deletion of my musical page. I'm the drummer of the band and all the images that i used are not mine and I noted in section image loading, writing the name of the owner of the images. If made any mistake with some stuff that i flag, i'm sorry, it wasn't my intention to infringe the copyright. Second point: another user said that my page was deleted because it wasn't encyclopedic. Now my band made two album, an european tour and played in some important national concert. @Mrkikko: If you are referring to it:Soul S Chains, content issues on Italian Wikipedia are best dealt with there, including meeting their criteria it:Aiuto:Criteri di enciclopedicità/Gruppi e artisti musicali or it:Aiuto:Cosa mettere su Wikipedia. По указанной Вами ссылке я ознакомился со статьей производные произведения. Но поскольку автор книги жил в 16 веке разрешение от него не может быть получено. Фото древнего трактата подпадает под пример с Венерой Милосской. Спасибо за понимание!

Да, наверное Вы правы. Только какие файлы Вы хотите туда помещать? Старые (которые точно в ОД, только неправильно лицензированы) - их удалять не нужно. Или файлы примерно с 1900 г, которые могут быть несвободны?

Последние могут быть удалены, и если предмет файла значим, поставить категорию типа Undelete in... Если же это скан папы-мамы-дедушки-бабушки, то его можно сразу в Unused personal files. Кстати, часто так бывает что участник,загрузивший фото себя любимого, ничего полезного не сделал. Вы можете помечать файлы этой категорией, даже если они используются. look for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cairo_University logo of cairo university is used and not deleted so why these logo of universities you want delete it in any case if u have any reason so dont forget the subject is not big and more logo used not these only so if u have any solution for no delete these so ok if u haven't any solution so ok too in any case i just use these website for help people not for money
