Please avoid nonsense categories as you added for this image. Before you proced categorizing images you urgently need to learn how to categorize useful! -- Ies (talk) 17:55, 12 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There was nothing wrong with the way I categorized this file. If you have a problem with it, tell me why you think I did something wrong, instead of simply calling the categories I tagged "nonsense." If you think I need to learn something, point me to a resource instead of simply chastising me and reverting my edits. Also, when you reverted, you removed a perfectly fine English translation, so now there is no English description for this file. Instead of simply making wholesale reversions of edits you don't like and throwing out the baby with the bathwater, you desperately need to learn how to act like a helpful human being. Since I practice what I preach, here's some information on how to do that. Dylan38 (talk) 08:42, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry if you feel insulted but there was everything wrong with the way you categorized this file.
Sorry, but it's just annoying if there is someone like you tinkering with unuseable and inappropriate categories. Please learn that you have to read and understand the rules first before you contribute. Nobody is responsible for this but you. And there is nobody responsible for teaching you the rules you can easy access yourself if you only want. This is true for Commons and the entire life. Well, here are the categorizing rules: Commons:Categories. You might have noticed another rule: Continue a discussion where it started, not at another user's page. Btw, there are about one hundred thousend images I made and uploaded to Commons without a perfectly fine English translation. I'm certain that nobody will miss this perfectly fine English translation in this very image! -- Ies (talk) 06:29, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Ies: Be as annoyed as you want, there's certainly no rule against that. But when you revert legitimate edits simply because you disagree with a couple of categories that I added, that is destructive and not helpful. I don't care how many files you have uploaded without English translations – others can add translations over time. But there was no need to remove a translation that is accurate simply because you disliked the categories I added. You could have just edited the file and removed or changed those categories.
I'm not going to argue with you about the categories themselves. "Crypt" is a synonym for "Tomb," so whether you like it or not, that category was correct. Also, I marked it German language because the image contained *gasp* text in the German language! How irrational of me...
When it comes down to it, this is just a matter of ego on your part. You don't go around correcting other people's "nonsense" categories; you only reverted edits on this page because you happened to upload the image file. Go check out the book I linked to previously and get over yourself.
This is my last response to you on this matter. Dylan38 (talk) 10:50, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The point is not that I disliked the categories you added. The point is that they were nothing than wrong, unuseful and inappropriate. When you added "Tomb" as synonym for "Crypt" this was wrong and something you seemingly still don't understand: Over-categorizing an image does not comply to the categorizing rules. See Commons:Categories#Over-categorization. Your translation "Here lie the citizens of Leer who died during both World Wars" was wrong as well. It should read "Here commemorate the citizens of Leer the victims of both World Wars" what is a quite different meaning. So I did right when I reverted all your edits. You call your wrong translation a perfectly fine English translation, you get very excited when an edit by you gets reverted, you ignore rules and you refuse further discussions. Who of us is really the one with an ego problem? Think about this. -- Ies (talk) 15:55, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notification about possible deletion[edit]

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
