Thank you for creating Barnstar with polished anchor.png[edit]

Just wanted to let you know that your creation was put to good use: I have just been awarded it for a different purpose. (If you want to continue the conversation, please do so here and alert me at en:User talk:SebastianHelm, as I'm not usually active at Wikimedia.) calling for discussion[edit]

I called for discussion over renaming a category you started -- for consistency with similar classes. Please see Commons:Categories for discussion/2012/01/Category:Cape class patrol boats. Geo Swan (talk) 03:02, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File:A_crewman_looks_at_TARPS_imagery_aboard_USS_George_Washington.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Request for permission to use image[edit]

Dear Dual, I'm a publisher from Namibia. I would like to use your image of the solar panels in the Mojave Desert in one of my publications. I know that the image is in the public domain, however, I need your explicit permission to be able to use the image. Please contact me via email: malimap@nph.com.na top discuss this further. I look forward to hearing from you. Patrycja

I don't know what image you are describing, but I personally have never photographed any solar panels in the Mojave desert. You are likely looking at a US Department of Defense image, so if you feel you need explicit permission from someone, you should go to the US DoD for that. I usually like the website, in the image, you could go to the US Air Force or US Navy media website and seek permission there. I'm pretty sure I can not grant permission on behalf of the US Military. --Dual Freq (talk) 22:10, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Category discussion warning

USS Dale (CG-19) has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

Hi there, you updated this image to say it's a TC-135, but this suggests it was converted from a TC to an RC in 2016, and the photograph was taken in 2020. How would you suggest this and the aircraft's category be handled? Huntster (t @ c) 23:03, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, this is an odd one. It is missing that 'cheek' pod that all the other RC-135's have, Hard to believe it could have a recon capability with no obvious antennas on the outside. This article says it is to be a NC-135, the platform used to test equipment for the RC-135 fleet. I'm not sure where the dossier page gets the conversion info from. It's pretty clear though that it is not a Cobra Ball though. --Dual Freq (talk) 23:35, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
