@Quistnix: , "w:en:Indonesian numismatic charm" is nu live, er is momenteel maar één afbeelding op Wikimedia Commons van dit onderwerp maar er is echt heel veel online te vinden, echt HEEL VEEL te vinden! Zeker. Ik zal binnenkort eens kijken of ik een paar foto's kan maken. Er bestaan trouwens ook Indonesische Islamitische amuletten die van de Chinese zijn afgeleid. Ik heb daar een exemplaar van. Ik kocht mijn eerste Indonesische amuletten in 1999, en ik had er totaal geen literatuur over. Ik ben met de amuletten naar het munten- en penningenkabinet in Leiden gegaan, waar de penningendeskundige stomverbaasd was. Die had net een van de eerste exemplaren van het boek ontvangen, maar ik was de eerste die er daadwerkelijk een paar kwam laten zien. We hebben ze al snel kunnen thuisbrengen, dankzij dat boek, dat ik meteen bij Amazon heb besteld. Korte tijd later waren de boeken uitverkocht. Een vreemd toeval. Nog een andere anekdote: ik had er een paar op tafel liggen om ze te bestuderen toen een verwarmingsmonteur van Indonesische afkomst kwam. Ik moest een papier tekenen voor het onderhoud van de ketel, maar eerst moesten die amuletten van tafel af, daar wilde hij ver bij uit de buurt blijven. Naderhand werd het mij via Indonesische vrienden duidelijk: veel (vooral oudere) mensen kennen het bestaan ervan, maar niemand spreekt er over. @Quistnix: dat verhaal heb je eerder verteld maar in minder details. De reden dat ik überhaupt begon met het schrijven over kèpèngs (en later amuletten) omdat ik er maar weinig informatie over heb kunnen vinden. In mijn thuisland hebben wij bijna duizend (1000) jaar met Kèpèngs betaald maar raar genoeg kon ik nergers informatie over ze vinden anders dan moderne amuletten die vaag op Kèpèngs lijken. Op het internet vond ik eerst Wikipedia en later websites zoals Art-Hanoi, Primaltrek / Primal Trek, Charm.ru, Zeno.ru, Etc. Ik heb al die informatie op Wikipedia gebracht zodat "toekomstige verzamelaars en geïnteresseerden" dan al het informatie die zij willen op één (1) plaats kunnen vinden, helaas heb ik niet alles over Kèpèngs kunnen vinden maar genoeg om een grote infrastructuur op Wikimedia websites te maken zodat "toekomstige schrijvers" op "mijn werk" kunnen bouwen. Ik heb daarom al "het infrastructuur" gemaakt zodat mensen bijna alle categorieën van Kèpèngs en amuletten kunnen vinden.
Ik vroeg een keer aan een oudere Chinees Nederlandse vrouw in een moderne Chinese amulettenwinkel wat er op een Bảo đđại Thông Bảo stond en zij zei "zomer, winter, lente, herfst" waardoor ik direct door had dat zij geen Traditioneel Chinees schrift kon lezen. Ik vindt het jammer dat Kèpèngs en Oosterse amuletten "een vergeten hoek van numismatiek" zijn, je kan alles over obscure Canadese, Braziliaanse of Indiaase penningen vinden op Wikipedia en Wikimedia Commons maar Kèpèngs zijn raar genoeg "een vergeten munttype" buiten Oost-Azië en Viëtnam. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 21:00, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Iets wat ik mij altijd afvroeg is hoe machine-geslagen Viëtnamese kèpèngs circuleerden naast gegoten Viëtnamese kèpèngs, dit is iets wat ik mij jaren afvroeg. Op Wikipedia stond geen antwoord en ik kon niets over hoe dit systeem werkte op Art-Hanoi, ik had zoveel vragen die ik heb kunnen beantwoorden dankzij al m'n onderzoek. Ik heb redelijk wat boeken online kunnen vinden dus voor mijn vele vragen kreeg ik eindelijk antwoord. De enige reden dat ik over Oosterse amuletten ging schrijven was als excuus om ALLES van zowel Gary Ashkenazyz (Ashkenazys) Primaltrek / Primal Trek en Vladimir Belyaevs Charm.ru websites te importeren. Alhoewel Indonesische Kèpèngs en amuletten op de meeste "mainstream kèpèng websites" worden besproken als in "zij bestaan" heb ik bijna niets over ze kunnen vinden tot dat jij mij inspireerde. Dit was trouwens niet eens de eerste keer dat ik het probeerde, het is gewoon moeilijk om informatie over deze "regio van numismatiek" iets te vinden. In mijn tijd hier op Wikimedia websites heb ik gelukkig praktisch elke vraag die ik had over Chinese kèpèngs te kunnen beantwoorden en zelfs eindelijk een volledige lijst kunnen maken van Chinese kèpèng-munten.

Ik denk dat ik nu eindelijk klaar ben met het schrijven op Wikipedia, er zijn niet veel Oosterse monetaire bronnen die ik nog kan gebruiken, ik hoop dat de infrastructuur dat ik heb gemaakt voor "toekomstige schrijvers" ons straks artikelen geeft over munten zoals de "w:en:Xuantong Tongbao", "w:en:Guangxu Tongbao", Etc. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 21:38, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Problems

  • Some wikis will not be able to edit for a short period of time on 19 March (UTC). This will start at 15:00 UTC. It will last up to 15 minutes but probably shorter. You can see the list of affected wikis. This is because of network maintenance. You can still read the wikis.
  • Editors who use Firefox to edit with the visual editor had a problem with copying text. When they tried to select text that included footnotes, templates or block images in the middle they would often only get part of the text. This has now been fixed. [1]
  • Some maps didn't work for a while on 8 March. This has been fixed. [2][3]

  • Recurrent item The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 12 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 13 March. It will be on all wikis from 14 March (calendar).

You claimed as own work (which is partially correct in respect of your contribution in the photo), COM:FOP Vietnam makes no mention of a difference between 2D and 3D artworks, so your licensing choice was in good faith?. Generally though on Commons, where a photo contains a subject that would have had a separate copyright, it's good practice to note the artist/creator details and copyright status for the artwork that's the subject of the photo as well as the details of the photographer (i.e yourself). As you've clearly taken the time to respond in respect of other image concerns recently, I would strongly suggest you review your upload log and expand upon the

@ShakespeareFan00: doesn't Chinese calligraphy fall under text? It always mimics a pre-existing font type and only contains a handful of characters. Zeker. Ik zal binnenkort eens kijken of ik een paar foto's kan maken. Er bestaan trouwens ook Indonesische Islamitische amuletten die van de Chinese zijn afgeleid. Ik heb daar een exemplaar van. Ik kocht mijn eerste Indonesische amuletten in 1999, en ik had er totaal geen literatuur over. Ik ben met de amuletten naar het munten- en penningenkabinet in Leiden gegaan, waar de penningendeskundige stomverbaasd was. Die had net een van de eerste exemplaren van het boek ontvangen, maar ik was de eerste die er daadwerkelijk een paar kwam laten zien. We hebben ze al snel kunnen thuisbrengen, dankzij dat boek, dat ik meteen bij Amazon heb besteld. Korte tijd later waren de boeken uitverkocht. Een vreemd toeval. Nog een andere anekdote: ik had er een paar op tafel liggen om ze te bestuderen toen een verwarmingsmonteur van Indonesische afkomst kwam. Ik moest een papier tekenen voor het onderhoud van de ketel, maar eerst moesten die amuletten van tafel af, daar wilde hij ver bij uit de buurt blijven. Naderhand werd het mij via Indonesische vrienden duidelijk: veel (vooral oudere) mensen kennen het bestaan ervan, maar niemand spreekt er over. @Quistnix: dat verhaal heb je eerder verteld maar in minder details. De reden dat ik überhaupt begon met het schrijven over kèpèngs (en later amuletten) omdat ik er maar weinig informatie over heb kunnen vinden. In mijn thuisland hebben wij bijna duizend (1000) jaar met Kèpèngs betaald maar raar genoeg kon ik nergers informatie over ze vinden anders dan moderne amuletten die vaag op Kèpèngs lijken. Op het internet vond ik eerst Wikipedia en later websites zoals Art-Hanoi, Primaltrek / Primal Trek, Charm.ru, Zeno.ru, Etc. Ik heb al die informatie op Wikipedia gebracht zodat "toekomstige verzamelaars en geïnteresseerden" dan al het informatie die zij willen op één (1) plaats kunnen vinden, helaas heb ik niet alles over Kèpèngs kunnen vinden maar genoeg om een grote infrastructuur op Wikimedia websites te maken zodat "toekomstige schrijvers" op "mijn werk" kunnen bouwen. Ik heb daarom al "het infrastructuur" gemaakt zodat mensen bijna alle categorieën van Kèpèngs en amuletten kunnen vinden.
Ik vroeg een keer aan een oudere Chinees Nederlandse vrouw in een moderne Chinese amulettenwinkel wat er op een Bảo đđại Thông Bảo stond en zij zei "zomer, winter, lente, herfst" waardoor ik direct door had dat zij geen Traditioneel Chinees schrift kon lezen. Ik vindt het jammer dat Kèpèngs en Oosterse amuletten "een vergeten hoek van numismatiek" zijn, je kan alles over obscure Canadese, Braziliaanse of Indiaase penningen vinden op Wikipedia en Wikimedia Commons maar Kèpèngs zijn raar genoeg "een vergeten munttype" buiten Oost-Azië en Viëtnam. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 21:00, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Iets wat ik mij altijd afvroeg is hoe machine-geslagen Viëtnamese kèpèngs circuleerden naast gegoten Viëtnamese kèpèngs, dit is iets wat ik mij jaren afvroeg. Op Wikipedia stond geen antwoord en ik kon niets over hoe dit systeem werkte op Art-Hanoi, ik had zoveel vragen die ik heb kunnen beantwoorden dankzij al m'n onderzoek. Ik heb redelijk wat boeken online kunnen vinden dus voor mijn vele vragen kreeg ik eindelijk antwoord. De enige reden dat ik over Oosterse amuletten ging schrijven was als excuus om ALLES van zowel Gary Ashkenazyz (Ashkenazys) Primaltrek / Primal Trek en Vladimir Belyaevs Charm.ru websites te importeren. Alhoewel Indonesische Kèpèngs en amuletten op de meeste "mainstream kèpèng websites" worden besproken als in "zij bestaan" heb ik bijna niets over ze kunnen vinden tot dat jij mij inspireerde. Dit was trouwens niet eens de eerste keer dat ik het probeerde, het is gewoon moeilijk om informatie over deze "regio van numismatiek" iets te vinden. In mijn tijd hier op Wikimedia websites heb ik gelukkig praktisch elke vraag die ik had over Chinese kèpèngs te kunnen beantwoorden en zelfs eindelijk een volledige lijst kunnen maken van Chinese kèpèng-munten.

Ik denk dat ik nu eindelijk klaar ben met het schrijven op Wikipedia, er zijn niet veel Oosterse monetaire bronnen die ik nog kan gebruiken, ik hoop dat de infrastructuur dat ik heb gemaakt voor "toekomstige schrijvers" ons straks artikelen geeft over munten zoals de "w:en:Xuantong Tongbao", "w:en:Guangxu Tongbao", Etc. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 21:38, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Lijst van Japanse Kèpèng-munten bij inscriptie

Ik vergat je gisteren te vertellen dat ik de Engelstalige Wikipedia artikel “w:en:List of Japanese cash coins by inscription” heb gemaakt, ik zat er om eerlijk te zijn best een lange tijd over te twijfelen of ik deze nou wel of niet wou maken, vooral omdat Koreaanse Kèpèngs, Riukiuaanse kèpèngs, en Viëtnamese Kèpèngs al volledige lijsten van inscripties op hun respectievelijke pagina’s heb maar voor Japanse Kèpèngs is het wat meer verdeeld. Korea gebruikte honderden jaren dezelfde inscriptie en Japan deed dat óók onder de Tokugawa-Shogunaat dus was er niet zoveel variatie in de moderne tijd maar blijkbaar zag ik een groot aantal categorieën van Kèpèngs over het hoofd. Ik ben dus nu feitelijk klaar met wat ik wou schrijven op één pagina na en dat is dus een “lijst van particulier geproduceerde Viëtnamese Kèpèng-munten bij inscriptie” alleen kan ik daar bijna geen literatuur over vinden en is het de meest gecompliceerde veld van Kèpèngs.

Verder dacht ik eraan om een artikel te schrijven over de geschiedenis van de Viëtnamese văn als denominatie in plaats van de Kèpèng-munt zelf, maar denk ik dat dat gewoon “een fork” zou worden van verschillende Viëtnamese Kèpèng-artikelen. Plus wordt het al volledig in een aantal artikelen besproken. De Frans Indo-Chinese denominatie “Sapèque” (Kèpèng, oftewel Wén) is feitelijk hetzelfde maar onafhankelijk van het zinkensysteem van de Nguyễn. Plus kan ik niet zoveel informatie vinden over de Viëtnamese văn als denominatie onder Frans Indo-China sinds het dan aan de Frans Indo-Chinese Piastre/Mexicaanse Peso verbonden is en niet maar aan zinken munten die niet meer circuleerden dus kan het een Frans-/Mexicaans-gebaseerde fiat stelsel zijn. Als ik meer informatie had kon ik meer schrijven dus ben ik nu echt klaar, plus de Japanse lijst is ook “een fork” van 3 (drie) artikelen dus is het ook niet echt origineel maar ik denk dat zo’n lijst best handig kan zijn voor verzamelaars die alle informatie liever op één (1) plek hebben.

Structured Data - development update, March 2019

A development update for the current work by the Structured Data on Commons team:

After the release of multilingual file captions, work began on getting depicts and other statements ready for release. These were originally scheduled for release in February and into March, however there are currently two major blockers to finishing this work (T215642, T217157). We will know more next week about when depicts and statements can likely be ready for testing and then release; until then I've tentatively updated the release schedule.

Once the depicts feature is ready for testing, it will take place in two stages on TestCommons. The first is checking the very basics; is the design comfortable, how does the simple workflow of adding/editing/removing statements work, and building up help and process pages from there. The second part is a more detailed test of depicts and other statements, checking the edge-case examples of using the features, bugs that did not come up during simple testing, etc. Additionally we'll be looking with the community for bugs in interaction with bots, gadgets, and other scripts once the features are live on Commons. Please let me know if you're interesting in helping test and fix these bugs if they show up upon release, it is really hard to find them in a test environment or, in some cases, bugs won't show up in a testing environment at all.

One new thing is definitely coming within the next few weeks, pending testing: the ability to search for captions. This is done using the inlabel keyword in search strings, and will be the first step in helping users find content that is specifically structured data. I'll post a notice when that feature is live and ready for use.
