Hi, DancingPhilosopher! Thanks for having contributed the new and correct coats of arms of Ljubljana. I suggest you upload it separately, so that the description will state it is your own work and that the incorrect version can be proposed for deletion. Thanks a lot. --Eleassar (t/p) 14:41, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, DancingPhilosopher! Could you please provide reliable reference(s) for this graph. All images must have reliable sources, if we ever want to make en:Slovenia a good or featured article. Thanks a lot. --Eleassar (t/p) 18:32, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
---
I have added the source of the graph which was based on data provided by Banka Slovenije. The image of the graph was redrawn by me. DancingPhilosopher (talk) 12:30, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Great. Thanks again. --Eleassar (t/p) 12:41, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

28) --Eleassar (t/p) 13:16, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The city of Ljubljana Coat-of-arms

I think this SVG file is a redrawn image of this image (with the only difference being the colour of the tongue) and as such a copyright violation. Eleassar (t/p) 20:44, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I withdraw my nomination The image was published in this official document and is as such free for usage. Po svojem namenu se taka dela ne razlikujejo od uradnih besedil, zato je treba šteti, da tudi zanje velja izjema od avtorskopravnega varstva.29" This translates as: "Although the law based on the example of the Berne Convention discusses only official texts, in the frame of official jurisdictions other categories of authored works also often appear as parts of the official text, its annex or independently (e.g. urban planning maps in spatial files; drawings of traffic signs; drawings of the national coat-of-arms, of municipal coats of arms [emphasis mine], of flags and the music of the national anthem; sketches and plans from the patent file after the official publication of the patent). In its purpose these works do not differ from official texts, therefore it should be regarded that they are exempt of copyright law too.29"

Color (non-transparent) request: Flag of Ljubljana

Hi, when you have time, it will be great if you can also correct the Ljubljana coat of arms in File:Flag of Ljubljana.svg. Best regards, --Eleassar (t/p) 14:32, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I uploaded the corrected version. -- DancingPhilosopher (talk) 15:13, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. --Eleassar (t/p) 15:26, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is transparent upper part ok? It looks a little strange on purple background? Can you answer on image talk page? --Pinky sl (talk) 10:25, 8 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Portrait of Samo

Hello DancingPhilosopher, I like the way You improved Samo article on English Wikipedia - especially the images ... however I was curious on the origin of File:Samo1.png and it seems, that You claim to be an author. By author I mean the one who had been drawing this drawing. Was it Mr. Branko Jezovnik as written on File:Samo1.jpg ? If so, do we really have permission for the image? Either way, it should not be - in my opinion - labeled as Your work. I think You made derivative work of the original - thats fine, however the original author should be noted to in accordance with CC too (that is if really have the permission for the image in the first place) .

What do You think?{Reo On (talk) 15:21, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The author of the original image is Mr. Branko Jezovnik, I only made a derivative work - i.e. cleared and made the PNG version with transparent background. I intended to change the image description so that would not erroneously label it as my own work after uploading the derivative work, but as noticed by you, as well, it seems the original one was uploaded on Wikimedia Commons without a proper permission. Therefore both the original and the derivatives should be deleted from the Commons.--DancingPhilosopher (talk) 10:16, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank You for Your nice and clear response :-). Pity for that image, it certainly will make a gap on Samo's article. {Reo On (talk) 18:31, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Map of European countries by percent of local Avaaz members

Hi DancingPhilosopher, as long as you don't explain what color means what percentage this map remains incomprehensible. -- Ies (talk) 16:10, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cropped picture upload

Hi, I've reverted your crop of File:Potočka zijalka.jpg. Per COM:CROP, substantial crops (this one cropped part of the entrance) should be uploaded as new files. --Eleassar (t/p) 20:47, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading under different name

Hi, this is a great map. I just wonder why is Spalatino listed as its author, and if you have made it, per COM:CROP, it would be better to upload it under a different filename. --Eleassar (t/p) 23:29, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm glad you think the map is great, thank you. Thanks also for reminding me to update its description which I did today. While you are right that it may be better to upload it under a different filename I must confess - a fault confessed is half redressed - that I didn't do it because I would have to make manual changes in a lot of articles that included the old image (in different WPs, not just the English one). But if a tool would allow me to do it automatically, a bot, or what is such a tool called, then I'd probably change my mind and upload it under a different filename as you suggest; is there any such tool that you are aware of and I could use it? Thanks. --DancingPhilosopher (t/p) 13:03, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free panorama breach
File:Četrta vseslovenska vstaja IMG 4592.JPG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
