Hi Danamania,

I see that you uploaded some very good Macintosh photographs, all of which contribute greatly to our Mac images collection. A big thanks from me for that! However, you seem to have missed the license tag on Image:Macintosh Quadra 605.jpg. Since you normally use , this is no cause for concern, but I don't want to act on assumptions when licensing is involved, so it'd be great if you could add the tag yourself. Anyway, welcome, and have a pleasant stay. If you need any help, feel free to contact me. --grmwnr (homewiki) 17:59, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops. I did just forget the license, I'll go add that right away - thanks for the kind words, I'm glad the images are useful!. Danamania 18:27, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Danamania!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.
