@Cantons-de-l'Est, 1803 est la date mentionnée sur la fiche google, qui est d'ailleurs assez confuse sur ce point. La date indiquée sur la page titre est sans doute plus fiable, mais le renommage du fichier entraîne la nécessité de renommer également les fichiers liés sur wikisource. Ce fichier a été importé dans le cadre du rattachements des textes sans source, j'ai importé dans ce cadre pr̠ès de 1000 fac-similés depuis fin juin, j'avoue ne pas avoir toujours fait dans la dentelle. 23.08 MB ou 5.41 MB

Bonjour Cunegonde, j'avais réduit le fichier File:Ainsworth - Abigail ou la Cour de la Reine Anne (1859).pdf à 5.41 MB. J'arrivais à faire une OCR page par page. La conversion en djvu donnait 36MB, donc plus grand que le pdf, et je ne l'ai pas télechargé. Maintenant, tu a télechargé une nouvelle version pdf de 23.08 MB, plus de 4 fois plus volumineux, qui, je le reconnais, donne une bonne OCR pour la totalité. Je ne comprends pas ces sauts de volume du fichier, ni ce qui était faux dans mon télechargement. Pourras-tu m'expliquer ? Amicalement, --Havang(nl) (talk) 13:42, 11 April 2023 (UTC)

J'ai fait plusieurs essais dont un qui pesait de 52 MB. Les fichiers google sont bizarrement codés et optimisés. Après des essais peu satisfaisants, j'ai fait un crop avec briss, exporté les images du pdf pour faire un traitement avec scantailor pour recadrer et minimiser les erreurs d'OCR, j'ai enfin fait un export pdf sur lequel j'ai fait un ocr avec Tesseract. Le meilleur compromis qualité/taille a donné la taille de 23MB. Si j'avais fait un djvu, cela aurait donné la moitié. C'est une des raisons pour laquelle je ne fais que des djvu. Tu as donc aussi eu des problèmes avec google. Mais tu maîtrises assez pour trouver une solution. Entre-temps, j'ai vu que la version de 5.41 MB était de mauvaise qualité, avec des lettres e<=>o u<=>n et i<=>l échangés entre eux. Je comprends mieux que le pdf de petite résolution n'est pas attractif. La prochaine fois, je te signalerai le pdf pour faire la conversion etc., ça se revèle trop compliqué pour le faire moi-même. J'ai importé ce livre dans le cadre des imports pour rattachement de textes sans fac-similé. J'ai d'ailleurs importé plus de 1000 livres dans le cadre de ce projet qui est désormais en pause. La question du droits d'auteurs pour les revues est extrêmement complexe et sujette à controverses, puisqu'au sein d'un même ouvrage, il y a des textes domaine public et d'autres non. S'agissant du texte de Lalande il est effectivement copyvio, alors que les deux autres textes transclus à partir de ce fac-similé sont domaine public. Cunegonde1 (talk) 04:55, 8 August 2023 (UTC)

D'accord totalement avec Cunegonde. Je vais demander l'autorisation de publication de leurs fac-similés sur Wikisource à la Revue de métaphysique et de morale. Attendons avant de supprimer, en cas d'acceptation de leur part. En cas de refus, nous pourrons caviarder les fac-similés et ne pas transclure. Le fait qu'ils soient mis sur Gallica en accès libre présage d'une acceptation et d'une non commercialisation de leur part. Merci à Cunegonde pour son travail, sans doute qu'il y aura une acceptation ! D'ailleurs, il faut savoir que cette œuvre est dans le domaine public aux États-Unis car elle a été publiée avant le 1er janvier 1928, et que Commons étant hébergée aux USA n'est pas soumise au droit français. --Etienne M (talk) 09:13, 8 August 2023 (UTC)

Careful

Just because someone wrote a book, that does not mean they created all the illustrations in the book. Therefore you should not, when extracting images from a book, attribute them all to the book's author. (Many of these, for instance.) DS (talk) 21:37, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
