Tram numbers

So, you created Category:Trams with fleet number 2034 (and many other such cats). Do you plan on creating the missing Category:Number 2034 on trams (ditto for the other affected numbers), that links your new cat and its contents to other tram numbers and other uses of 2034 (ditto), or not? -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 10:55, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

@Clic: I just added you to an ongoing discussion: In my opinion, there should not be this kind of detail for most cases — I only created "Trams with fleet number NNN" when there’s also material for a "Trams on route NNN" to contrast it against, otherwise I advocate to keep everything together in "Number NNN on trams", or even in "Number NNN on vehicles", depending on how many items we have to populate these cats. -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 11:28, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

@Tuvalkin: "Trams with fleet number NNN" and "Trams on route NNN" are both useful, but "Trams with fleet number NNN" and "Number NNN on trams" seem to be the same in most cases. In many categories some pictures are in "Number NNN on trams" even if they show a fleet number and a matching subcategory "Trams with fleet number NNN" exist. --Clic (talk) 11:35, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

Concerning your 1st and 2nd points (both useful but often only fleet# exists): Yes, that’s my point at Category talk:Numbers on trams#Splitting these subcats. About the 3rd: That’s because some people are busy creating cats but neglect to populate them with stuff that’s left in the parent cats (e.g.: You created Category:Number 2034 on rail vehicles, but didn’t move these four media items onto it — of course this was just now, but other users have been creating all these cats, especially about buses, and then neglecting for years to move stuff into them, which kinda defeats the whole idea of creating them in the 1st place…). -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 11:46, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

Deine Fehler im Chemnitzer Modell

Hallo Clic, bitte prüfe gründlich, welche Fotos aus Chemnitz und Umgebung du in die Straßenbahnkategorie schiebst (und korrigiere das bitte wieder). Dir sind unlängst mehrere Fehler unterlaufen, z.B. hier und hier. Das sind nur Beispiele. Auf den konkreten Bildern ist ausschließlich Eisenbahnverkehr zu sehen, sowohl strecken- als auch fahrzeugseitig. Dass die Fahrzeuge neben ihrer vollen nationalen Eisenbahnzulassung auch noch eine BOStrab-Zulassung konkret für das Chemnitzer Straßenbahnnetz haben, führt nicht dazu, dass man sie auf jedem Bild in die Straßenbahnkategorie schieben kann. Ich bin zu diesem Thema auch mit dem Einsteller der Fotos im Gespräch, siehe hier. Nicht alles, was nach Straßenbahnbetrieb aussieht, ist auch wirklich Straßenbahnbetrieb, die de facto vorhandenen Schnittstellen sind zu beachten. Kategorienentfernung meiner S8-Bilder

Hallo Christian, warum hast du bei meinen S8-Bildern File:Steilrampe Erkrath-Hochdahl (12).jpg, File:Steilrampe Erkrath-Hochdahl (11).jpg, File:Steilrampe Erkrath-Hochdahl (10).jpg und File:Steilrampe Erkrath-Hochdahl (9).jpg auf der Steilrampe Hochdahl die Kategorie Category:S-Bahn Rhein-Ruhr trains entfernt? Hallo Joschi71, alle Bilder sollten so genau wie möglich in Unterkategorien eingeordnet sein, um übergeordnete Kategorien übersichtlich zu halten. Deine Bilder passen in die Category:DBAG_Class_1440, eine Unterkategorie von Category:S-Bahn Rhein-Ruhr trains. Und da sind sie auch zu finden. --Clic (talk) 22:12, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

Ja, in anderen Regionen gibt es (bis jetzt) nur die älteren Alstom Coradia Continental, Category:DBAG_Class_440. Sollte sich das mal ändern, müssten wir natürlich die Kategorien entsprechend umsortieren.--Clic (talk) 18:07, 17 January 2019 (UTC)

Hallo PaulT, Deine Fotos zeigen einen Siemens Desiro der Mitteldeutschen Regiobahn. Dort hast Du die Fotos auch genau richtig einsortiert. Dabei handelt es sich um eine Unterkategorie der Kategorie Category:Siemens Desiro in Germany. Die Baureihe 642 der DB ist ebenfalls eine Unterkategorie davon. Es wäre aber sinnlos, alle Züge dieser Siemens-Bauart bei der DB einzusortieren, auch wenn sie von anderen Bahngesellschaften betrieben werden. --Clic (talk) 07:51, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

Liebe(r) Clic, dann verstehe ich aber nicht die c:Category:DBAG Class 642 of Erzgebirgsbahn (eine Unterkategorie von c:Category:DBAG Class 642). Ist das dann nicht falsch? Ich hatte das DBAG davor so interpretiert, dass die anderen Bahnen auch die Fahrzeuge gekauft haben, die für die DBAG in der Baureihe 642 entwickelt wurden. --PaulT (talk) 10:25, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

Guter Einwand. Ich gehe davon aus, die Kategorie wurde als Unterkategorie von DBAG angelegt, und nicht als eigene, weil die Erzgebirgsbahn eine Tochterfirma der DBAG ist. --Clic (talk) 06:14, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

GeoGroup

Hallo Clic, du hattest in diversen Kategorien die GeoGroup Anweisungen entfernt und durch eine zentrale, wohl in Template:Districts of Lower Saxony, ersetzt. Dabei ist jetzt stets Level=3 aktiv. Das hat den Nachteil, dass die Rechenzeit länger ist, und dass jetzt zusätzliche Ergebnisse kommen die man vorher nicht hatte, etwa bei Category:Buildings in Wilhelmshaven sind jetzt Treffer in Rostock dabei. Das sind zwar im Prinzip Fehler in der Einordnung der Kategorien, so ganz glücklich bin ich aber mit deiner Änderung nicht. -- Gerd Fahrenhorst (talk) 13:20, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Trams in Leipzig

You removed from this category from several files. As long the type of tram in the picture is not defined by a subcategory, I keep the files in the uppercategory so that hopefully someone will later classify them. A 'Tram transport in Leipzig by year' category does not have 'trams in Leipzig' as upper category. ('Tram transport in Leipzig' is not same) Smiley.toerist (talk) 12:02, 22 September 2021 (UTC)

Rail transport in Germany nach Monat

Servus Clic, ich habe soeben eine neue Kategorisierung für Schienenverkehr in DE nach Monat eingeführt (so, wie es sie z.B. bereits für Österreih gibt). Beispiel: June 2021 in rail transport in Germany mit entsprechendem Template Rail transport germany month. Category:Bombardier Talent 2 of vlexx

Hey, bist du dir sicher, dass die Züge vom Vlexx Talent 2 sind? Die Internetseite von Vlexx beschreibt ihre Züge als Talent 3, mitsamt einem Bild vom "8442 642". Die deutschen Talent 3 wurden zwar bisher alle mit der dem Talent 2 entsprechenden Fahrzeugfront ausgeliefert, aber auch die 8442 der SWEG scheinen Talent 3 zu sein (siehe Eurailpress). Hallo Clic, da in der Rechtsprechung strittig ist, ob Werke in Bahnhöfen usw. tatsächlich unter die Panoramafreiheit fallen, wäre es vielleicht klug, wenn du für dieses Bild beim Künstler, der ja noch lebt[1], eine Genehmigung einholen könntest. Region Hannover

Hallo Clic, ich schlage vor dass du zukünftig die Region Hannover ohne ein "the" vorweg schreibst. "Region Hannover" ist nämlich m.E. ein Eigenname ähnlich "Landkreis Lüneburg" wo wir ja auch nicht schreiben "Buildings in the Landkreis Lüneburg". Category:Rail transport in Region Hannover ist aus meiner Sicht korrekt, die Ebenen darunter nicht. Was meinst du? -- Gerd Fahrenhorst (talk) 12:23, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

Ja, bei Landkreisen ist es auch ohne "the". Ich habe die Bezeichnungen aus Templates übernommen, wo ich teilweise sehr "kreative" Umwege gesehen habe, wie für diese Region extra ein "the" eingebaut wurde. How to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category

When you want to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category, best practice is to mark it with {{SD|C2}} if it would be OK to re-create it in the future, given that appropriate content becomes available or {{SD|C1}} if it is an inappropriate category name that should not be reused. In particular, this is better practice than just blanking the category page, as you did at Category:Things named after Nordrhein-Westfalen.
