Licensing

Image:061212-nordkapp.jpg is a nice image but the source has a clear statement of copyright All images are copyrighted by Steve Estvanik. Except for these links, you may NOT copy any of these images unless you pay for a download. all image sourced from the net must clearly state a free license at source for the image or the author needs to email permissions-commons@wikimedia.org with a confirmation of the licensing. ???? i'm confused -- i AM the coyright holder, Steve Estvanik - this is my first submission - what should i have done to make this more clear? i did fill out the licensing info and declared there that i am the owner. Cascoly 19:54, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

to be clear [i hope!} -- the image i submitted is NOT sourced from the net - i uploaded a resized version directly from MY archives.

Sorry for the confusion and distressed caused by this event, hopefully you be able to appreciate that copyright violations are all too frequently an issue as such Commons needs to address them quickly. I suggest that you create a link from your user page to your site. I hope you continue to contribute to Commons inspite of these initial difficulties. Gnangarra 01:47, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
