Welcome to Wikimedia Commons, Cantabrucu!

Cantabrucu you uploaded a bunch of files similar to this one. They don't seem to be your original work, but likely don't meet the threshold of originality. Would you consider changing the license to {{PD-textlogo}} to reflect this? Sam-2727 (talk) 18:51, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sam-2727!

Thank you for your kind advice. The photographs were taken by me, but the cards are ownership of Heraclio Fournier (although the modern pattern was first used in 1889 and so perhaps it is in the public domain now?). Regarding the licence you suggest, I think only a couple of cards could be using it, since the horses and kings require much more originality.

Cantabrucu, these would qualify as "derivative works," so they shouldn't be listed as "own works." What country are they from? This will help determine if they are actually public domain now or not. Sam-2727 (talk) 23:21, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
There isn't that big of a problem. The copyright rule for Spain is 80 years after death (or 80 years after publication for anonymous works, which the designs are, right?), so you should be fine. Just make sure to change the "own work" label. Sam-2727 (talk) 00:46, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sam-2727, as it happens they aren't anonymous. They were designed by a man called Augusto Rius [1] in 1889, so I'm assuming 80 years have passed since his death. I can't seam to find when de died, but a man who designed cards in 1889 has presumably been dead for more than 80 years? What licence do you recon I should add?--83.36.119.238 11:28, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
File:Junta Nacional de Homologación de Trofeos de Caza logo.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Thanks for uploading File:17th Duke of Alba in London.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:17th Duke of Alba in London.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

Hello, I need some help[edit]

Hello! I just saw you vectorized this duke's signature and I am wondering if you could help me clear this one: I tried my best at vectorizing as you can see but the file still looks bad. Thanks in advance. 7szz (talk) 02:56, 30 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
