Does this support level 4 headings? 2 and 3 are listed as options, but no mention of other levels which are included/excluded. It seems not to, which is problematic since b:RFP uses level 4 headings; can support be added? – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 01:01, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi - I'm confused by the licenses on this image. The image had a CopyrightedFreeUse license but then you added two more restrictive licenses. I don't see why the GFDL or CC licenses would apply if there is no restriction on the image in the first place. Could you explain or clarify? Thanks! -SCEhardT 17:21, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I must be doing something wrong. Uploading this image does not seem to work. This is my second attempt (previous try at Image:Toronto Old City Hall at night.jpg). How am I screwing this up? --Skeezix1000 22:26, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Ahhh. Didn't notice that. Glad to know the error was not me. --Skeezix1000 19:58, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Searching the internet for info on the bird "João-de-Barro" I found the information tag that «Wikimedia Commons as more about the João-de-Barro". But after opening the connection there was actually no further info from you. Please check.

Costa Rica

Hi, I don't know where to turn with this request since I'm not too active here on commons, but I thought I might ask you and get redirected to right place. Anyway, I would like an incorporated map/flag of Costa Rica, like the pictures in Category:Maps incorporating flags. However, I'm not very good when it comes to creating such a map, and I wonder if there is anywhere I could turn to get help with this? /Natox 19:35, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

However, the state seal is a part of the flag, but I agree, it was quite ugly and if you could create a better version it would be welcome. /Natox 21:52, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Nice work! Thanks! Natox 21:56, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Might it be possible to update this, whenever you have a chance? I'm kinda curious to see where I'm at now. :) -Ebyabe 00:06, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for your comment.

We don't know which GI took the photo. But we know that the only people present after the skirmish were American GIs, the illiterate Pashtun militia men who accompanied them. There is some speculation that a CIA official may have accompanied the Green Berets. But an image taken by a CIA official would also be a PD-USGov image.

Some wire services and other media companies try to claim copyright on images that are clearly in the public domain. The Toronto Star seems to have removed the article -- possibly in reaction to "think of the children" comments. My recollection is that the Star did not claim copyright on the image, and published it without any credits.

Hi,

Because you have editer Template:PermissionOTRS, I suppose you can anwser to my question :p

It could be useful to see <template error: no id or ticket is specified> when there is no ticket number or link.

Delinker

Bryan

I have just used Delinker to do a couple of Univeral Replaces, and am getting the message(on the old image page) "This image has been replaced using universal replace, but universal replace is quite broken. Do not delete without checking its usage!" Can you help? --MichaelMaggs 16:59, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, since the images were already deleted, I could not check whether it was actually working. I'll look at it when I see it, and if necessary remove the message :) -- Bryan (talk to me) 19:10, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Have a look for example at Image:Sashimi for sale.JPG. That was supposed to be replaced, but wasn't deleted and is still there but with a new message added to it. --MichaelMaggs 19:22, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Hmm... Apparently still broken. I'll look at it in the weekend. -- Bryan (talk to me) 19:24, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. Could you also have a look at similar messages which appear several times on Image:Acanthochondria cornuta.jpg? Thanks. --MichaelMaggs 19:28, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Help, I am being attacked

Hello. Not a registered user, trying to remove a copyvio page from commons, but all I get is reverts. Being accused of being a sockpuppet of a banned user, which seems more like an excuse to cover up a misdeed of the copyvio.

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Az_girl_karabakh.jpg

This is a violation and they try to keep putting in a dubious copy tag(that it was published before 1954 - no only created) and the caption they keep restoring to is not the original one, they are removing original caption, hence vandalizing. Please help ...70.21.139.214 18:04, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Status of images

User:FrankDrebin has uploaded a number of photos from a website. I have not been able to trace the copyright for them. Are these images ok on the commons? There is a note on his user page from you about an email, but it does not help to clarify anything there. 81.151.116.234 10:18, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

User:FrankDebrin is the owner of the website photoSS.net and the same person as mentioned in the credits. I confirmed this via the email on the website. Regards, -- Bryan (talk to me) 13:53, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

I previously posted this on help - I am accused of bein a puppet and an Armenian banned user. Can you help me? Obvious issue of incorrect copytag and falsyfing original image caption is an issue.70.21.139.214 16:44, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Bot

Hi Bryan, thanks a lot for your flickr/upload tool, it's really great and easy to use! After your recent improvements I've got 3 minor notes:

 1. originally posted to Flickr as … – you could remove the redundant second |Flickr from that line, or you could fix the link to Flickr.
 2. error messages are not really understandable for normal users; maybe you could add some shortened hints like "this image has been uploaded already" or so.
 3. a very neat addition would be an option to add to the last text field by clicking some button or so (as it is done per Common.js on every page here); this would spare further 'stupid typing' time :)

Again, many thanks. - Tldtld 20:18, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

MediaWiki

Hello Bryan, would you be so kind to tell me how to edit a system text, please? I can't find the page to edit a message in german for sub-category entries: In a category like Category:Hamburg it says

Unterkategorien

Diese Kategorie enthält die folgenden 34 Unterkategorien (von insgesamt 34 Kategorie).

There is a wrong phrase at the end, it must be Kategorien if more than one sub-categories are available. --GeorgHHtalk   21:55, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Yes, it looks that Raymond changed the code exact for this issue, thanks for your quick response. --GeorgHHtalk   22:14, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Fast deletion

I would be grateful, Bryan, if you would take a look at User_talk:ABF#Image:Knoxville sign2.jpg; an exchange I just had with User:ABF. I am still unclear as to why such action was taken so rapidly and without notice. Is that the normal procedure for this robot? Thank you for any information you can provide. Hi! Thank you. I feel terrible to bother you, because now the situation is the reverse as before: Now it works fine if the image is used, but returns an error if the image is not used. If this error is not killing the checkusage threads, then I don't care about it, but if it is, could you please look into it?

Geert Wilders photo

Bryan, sorry to bother you...you appear to be the only Dutch-speaking admin available at the moment. I had a question about Image:Geert Wilders CZ.jpg, currently linked by the cs and ar Wikipedias. It's currently tagged as lacking a source and seems to have a bad license as well. The original copy seems to come from nl:Afbeelding:Geert Wilders.jpg, and this has also been copied from there to en:Image:Geert Wilders.jpg, cs:Soubor:Geert Wilders CZ.jpg, fa:تصویر:Geert Wilders.jpg, and tr:Resim:Geert Wilders.jpg. The Dutch page seems to indicate that it was provided by Wilders' office, and mentions both the GFDL and public domain. There does not seem to be any link to permission. Would you mind terribly taking a look to see if the licenses can be fixed (I'm happy to help) or if these various copies of the image should be deleted? Thanks! Kelly 20:18, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

The permission on the Dutch Wikipedia is not sufficient. The uploader asked Wilders' office for a "rights free image" and got the image sent. I did not see the image permission, but I doubt it is sufficient and I think it is only a release for press purposed. -- Bryan (talk to me) 20:57, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, Bryan! I will take care of the image at en Wikipedia...do you know what should be done about the copies at fa and tr? (Or the original at nl, for that matter)? Kelly 21:01, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
I don't know, but I asked clarification from the original uploader. Will follow up on this later. -- Bryan (talk to me) 21:03, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

OTRS

Bryan, could you please give me the OTRS ticket ID of the e-mail User:Benjism89 sent tp permission-commons regarding the WEF images?[2] It appears indeed that the WEF has released their images as CC-BY-SA, and that they mean it. (There was some confusion because they initially had licensed their images as CC-BY-SA + "no archive, no resale", then as CC-BY-SA, then switched to CC-BY-NC-SA, before finally settling on CC-BY-SA now.) I'd like to close these WEF requests as soon as possible. Thank you. Lupo 21:16, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Could you please help this user, (s)he insists to discuss the permission for this image in dutch and you seem to be the only dutch-speaking admin around.

The image is from a cc-by-nc website, and I was a bit triggerhappy initially and speedydeleted it. I've since restored it after MarQ declared there was a permission from Provoost, but that needs to be sorted out (in dutch....). Dank U. Finn Rindahl 12:41, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
