FlickreviewR bug?[edit]

Image:Sílvia_Pfeifer.jpg was marked as a failure. However, the URL that was left in the tag was completely different than the one noted as the source. The commons image is actually a crop (more of a detail really) of the flickr image so there is no good way for them to be matched, but it seemed odd that FlickreviewR could get a completely wrong URL to check against. Rhyssa persuasoria.jpg[edit]

I am positive about CC license - I have spoken personally with the author and he agreed to release it under CC. I have used many of his images before as well - if you want I can forward you all the emails, but it is all in Polish. Do not worry, all is fine and I know what I am doing (I am an admin on pl-wiki). In pl-wiki we have this "resource list" and this website, and as you can see this is listed as green (which is OK): [1]. The template says that "there is insufficient info" - my hobby horse is asking external sources for photos, so I can image more similar situations in the future. Quick question about free/unfree images[edit]

Bear with me, I am a new user :-) What happens with the images that are sent to Category:Possibly unfree Flickr images reviewed by FlickreviewR? That is, if an image was uploaded when the license was free, and later the Flickr user changes its license, are we still allowed to keep the image? Or, if the license was free, the bot checks and affirms it is free, but later the user changes the license, can we keep the image? Can the user withdraw the permission? Does the last point at Commons:Email templates#Declaration of consent for all enquiries apply here, at least for the images that have been reviewed at least once and found to be free? Bot incorrect in failing set of images for commons[edit]

Hi. Concerning the 12 images in the gallery images section on this page: Mexican general election 2006 controversies - I can see why the bot got it wrong. I copied the 12 gallery images on that page from wikipedia to the commons.

The author (Gisela Ishihara) of the 12 images is different from the person (erasmo perez) who uploaded the images to Flickr. On the image pages in the commons I noted the author's name who uploaded the images to wikipedia. I gave the wikipedia image link URL, and the permission that Gisela Ishihara gave there. The images also happen to be on Flickr so I also gave the Flickr link in order to cover all bases. If you go to the wikipedia image pages you can see that the author permission is clear. I put the wikipedia image URLs in the notes on all the commons image pages. For example; the source for this commons image: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Mexico_City_rally_7-30-06_3.jpg is noted as

On his Flickr photoset page for the above-mentioned photos erasmo perez writes that the author of the photos is Gisela Ishihara. Erasmo perez also uploaded other photosets of Gisela Ishihara. All were uploaded on different days in July 2006 soon after the photos were taken. So I assume erasmo perez has permission from Gisela Ishihara. See:

Bryan, i am newby in wikipedia. I understand te difference between copyrighted material and free material. Now, What is the way I may use a picture as the ones I wrote in the title of this comment? I mean, tha are copyrighted, but as they are already in use in several wikis, maybe I confused the picture upload site (which I thought was Commons). I think I got it: Spanish wiki can only use Commons and Commons do not use copyrighted material. Is this the case?

Haabet[edit]

Don't expect Haabet to start adding in reasonable comments on his/her image uploads -- Haabet's ability with the English language is very limited in many ways, and Haabet has a quite narrow interest in only selective aspects of what he/she uploads (something which does not lead to placing things in a general historical context). Image:Shenyang from International Space Station.jpg is redundant and bad quality compared with image:Shenyang 123.38236E 41.77365N.jpg, which is better high re orbital satellite image of metro Shenyang. This is one of wikimedia coomons deletion guidelines. Is there anything wrong with my request? I'm a new user and didn't provide the right reason when I first made the request. Yes, I released them for any use. But for free only for non-commercial use. If somebody tries to sell my pictures for profit as his own work, that's not ok with me. I got the image Kataeb-flag.gif from the english wikipedia, [3] where it has a logo licence.

No problem, they removed it first then an IP got involved. I'm getting the hang of the place - I've marked around 30+ pages as speedy in the last 24 hours! (does nothing for my edit count of course!) There does seem to be quite a lot of new page creation by IPs - I've not looked around but are you folk actively blocking open proxies? I've uploaded Woody_Allen.jpg to commons.

This photo appears in english version of wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woody_Allen?uselang=en

I would like to include it in the spanish version too, so I have uploaded it to commons in order to acces it from es.wikipedia.org

As I saw it in english wikipedia I supposed that the copyright matter was solved.

A minutes ago I've found the source of this image in internet, right now I'm requesting permission for the use here.

I'm waiting for any response.

I have redeleted the logo, as logos that fall under some trademark restrictions are not allowed here. About the other images, did you photograph them yourself? You simply can't use a trademarked logo here. For the other pictures, are you sure the photographer has released all rights to it, including, but not limited to unlimited redistribution (e.g. making an unlimited number of copies), commercial use (e.g. selling) and the creation of derivative work (e.g. that anybody is allowed to use this image to create, for example, an advertisement)? -- Bryan (talk to me) 21:25, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dominik Hasek[edit]

I noticed you reviewed my upload of Dominek Hasek.jpg. A couple of things: I uploaded a cropped version but forgot to name it correctly, also the old one spells his name wrong Dominek Hasek instead of Dominik Hasek, could you delete the old image and keep the new cropped image and move it to Dominik Hasek.jpg?

Deletion ? Image:10 days off logo.jpg[edit]

Hi, you gave me this message on my talk page for File:10 days off logo.jpg (and you probably deleted it too), but I got the explicit permission from the organisation ("10 days off") itself to use it. That should allow to put it here, not ? Please advise..the licensing texts I read so far are just too big or inadequate for me to spend more time on.
(Sigh, it's so difficult to get other than your own images on the wiki.. :-( )

I'm bit confused about thess types of image that are mostly found in website. Is that correct license for this image or is this image likely to be deleted.
