Coats of arms of the cities and villages of Sicily[edit]
Hello, to tell the truth I was not working on coats of arms of Sicily, I was just classifying all Italian unsorted coats of arms I could recognise from the Category:Coats of arms to be classified. Yes, it comes out that almost all of them come from three people and refer to 3 regions (Sicily, Calabria amd Emilia-Romagna). And yes, most of them are from the italian Wikipedia. And yes, copyright issues might (ans surely will) arise. This said, I am not working especially on heraldry but on history. So I am adapting myself to the rules stated on the page you mention.
For inclusion in categories, there used to be a sort of ban based on no reason from one person in the past (who deleted all categories from all Italian pictures), that now, after a long discussing (which included the adms), he lifted at last.
I call your attention on how difficult is to deal with COA in galleries: have a look here: Coats of arms of the Province of Catania: there are more missing images than existing ones.
However, I have nothing against galleries, today I was just sorting out images that where unsorted. In the future, all images of Italian COA will hopefully go into their proper categories. But it will be a long work. If you happen to meet some Italian COAs, it would be nice if you could categorise them too. Best wishes. --G.dallorto 19:41, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Syntax for the category is: "Churches in Nameofthetown" not "Churches of Nameofthetown". I had forgotten to put the "move" template in the wrong one. Now there should be no longer any confusion. ich würde gerne wissen, weshalb Du dieses Bild bzw. dessen Erstversion, die über ein Jahr lang als frei lizenzierte Abbildung zur Verfügung stand und bereits unter Verweis auf Commons weitergenutzt wird, erst durch ein völlig anderes überschrieben und dann über Umweg hast löschen lassen.
Einen nachvollziehbaren Löschgrund – außer Deinem offensichtlichen Willen, das Bild „loszuwerden“ – kann ich nämlich nicht erkennen. Schließlich hast Du selbst dieses Foto im Februar 2006 unter den entsprechenden Lizenzbedingungen eingestellt.
Die Vorgehensweise, etwas durch eine bereits vorhandene, völlig andere Abbildung zu ersetzen [1] und dann einen Löschantrag wegen Duplikat [2] zu stellen, um damit die Originalversion „unauffällig“ gelöscht zu bekommen, zeigt m.E. dass Du Dir durchaus bewusst bist, dass das Bild auf dem regulären Wege wohl nicht gelöscht worden wäre.

Der Effekt ist nun, dass wir mehrere sehr ähnliche Abbildungen des Teatro Massimo (Palermo) haben, die alle die Fassade aus der Distanz zeigen, das einzige Foto jedoch, dass Details u.a. der Kapitelle gut erkennen ließ, weg ist :-/

- Hallo Bdk, ich fand das Bild einfach als Bild grottenschlecht, sowohl von der Belichtung als auch von dem Bildausschnitt her. Damals konnte man jedoch wegen Bautafeln leider keine besseren Aufnahmen machen, so dass ich es besser fand als gar keines. Da ich jetzt bessere Aufnahmen hatte wollte ich es erst einfach ersetzen, habe aber dann die neuen Bilder mit neuem Namen hochgeladen und das alte löschen lassen. Falls es dir auf die Kapitelle ankommt, da schaue ich mal, ob ich noch bessere Detailaufnahmen habe, die diese zeigen. Grüße --Bjs 14:12, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
- Ich hab jetzt mal ein neues Bild mit Details hochgeladen, auf der Bildseite erscheint aber nur das gelöschte. Ist das noch im Servercache (den meinen habe ich geleert)? Beim Anklicken erscheint aber das neu geladene. Dort sind die Details der Kapitelle und der Gesimse von Kuppel und Szenenhaus wesentlich besser zu erkennen als auf dem alten. - Als thumb und in gallery funktioniert es jetzt , nur auf der Bildbeschreibungsseite erscheint noch das alte. --Bjs 09:04, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Hallo Bjs, Danke für die Erläuterung. Die Nicht-Anzeige der neuen Version auf der Bildbeschreibungsseite konnte ich zuerst gar nicht nachvollziehen, habe dann mal in meinen Einstellungen bei „Dateien“ die maximale Bildgröße auf Bildbeschreibungsseiten auf 800x600px zurückgesetzt – und nur dort trat dieser Effekt auf, bei anderen Größen wird das richtige Bild angezeigt. Vermutlich ist beim Hochladen der neuen Version die alte 800px-Variante nicht überschrieben worden. Ein Problem, das sich mit dem im bug 2888 beschriebenen Workaround beheben ließ. Du müsstest jetzt also auch das „richtige“ Bild sehen. Grüße --:Bdk: 11:54, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hallo Bdk, ja jetzt passt es. Den Workaround http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/thumb.php?action=purge&f=file_name.ext&w=250 werde ich mir mal merken, ähnliche Probleme gabs nämlich auch schon beim Einbinden eines neuen Bildes als thumb, wenn ein gelöschtes Bild exisiterte. Das gab sich zwar bisher nach ca. 2-3 Wochen von selber, aber wenn man das beschleunigen kann, umso besser. Grüße --Bjs 19:20, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
