Asking...

@Begoon: Sorry to bother you, but do you know what font is used for Wikipedia logotype?--Jeromi Mikhael (talk) 01:34, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

As far as I remember, the latest globe logo uses w:Linux Libertine. You can get more info about the logos in general at w:Wikipedia:Wikipedia logos and at Wikimedia official marks/About the official Marks. By the way, you don't need to 'ping' me on my own talk page - I get the 'orange bar' if anyone posts here. Cheers. -- Begoon 06:12, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

SVG validation Errors

Where can i learn more about SVG validation Errors and ways to correct them? --Sushant savla (talk) 14:09, 17 May 2019 (UTC)

When you have created an svg, go to https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload and upload/validate it. Any errors will be listed there, with descriptions and line numbers. If you don't understand an error you can try googling it. Then you can either use the svg software you use, xml view in inkscape, or a good text editor like w:Notepad++ (not notepad) to fix them. You'll find there's a little more to it as you go along but that should get you started. Just remember to always keep backup copies of any file you try to 'fix' in case your efforts make things worse, rather than better, which can easily happen. -- Begoon 22:04, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
Thanks a lot Begoon. --Sushant savla (talk) 04:37, 18 May 2019 (UTC)

Re:Notification about possible deletion

I've removed the non geometric shape — Preceding unsigned comment added by Teknoraver (talk • contribs) 14:21, 28 May 2019 (UTC)

You mean you've removed the claim of a pd-textlogo license? That doesn't give us any free licence to keep the files. See COM:LICENSING. https://static.redhat.com/legacy/f/pdf/corp/RH-3573_284204_TM_Gd.pdf says "The only way to obtain permission to use Red Hat’s trademark is by entering into a written license agreement with Red Hat, Inc., signed by both Red Hat and the licensee or by qualifying under or complying with the ‘‘Trademark Permissions’’ set forth in these Guidelines. Absolutely no exceptions." I see nothing in the rest of that document suitable for Commons licensing. -- Begoon 14:32, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
Hi. I asked the Brand Team for written permission. Regards, -- Teknoraver 15:55, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
You do understand that the license will need to be completely free, per COM:LICENSING? "We give you permission to use on Commons/Wikipedia" or similar is not sufficient:
  • Republication and distribution must be allowed.
  • Publication of derivative work must be allowed.
  • Commercial use of the work must be allowed.
  • The license must be perpetual (non-expiring) and non-revocable.
They will need to contact COM:OTRS directly. Relaying via a third party, such as yourself, even if you work there, is not usually enough - the copyright holder/their agent needs to provide the permission - one of these: Commons:Email templates is preferred. -- Begoon 16:11, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
Just to understand, for the non geometric shape I just copied the template as seen as in File:Amazon_logo.svg or File:Apple_logo_black.svg don't seem just like a geometric shape. What are the rule for a logo to be identified as just a geometric shape? -- Teknoraver — Preceding unsigned comment added by Teknoraver (talk • contribs) 22:34, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
The rules are at COM:TOO, and are subject to interpretation to a degree. You may even find some people agree with the interpretation that the fedora is below the threshold of originality (in my opinion it isn't) which is why I opened a discussion rather than just tagging the files for speedy deletion. You are welcome to participate in that discussion. -- Begoon 07:46, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

How is it derivative work?

@Begoon: I created it from Scratch myself Kundakundakunda (talk) 02:50, 31 May 2019 (UTC)

I don't know which image you are referring to, but if it's the second one then creating a fake cover is a hoax. You could store such an image here, unless it was deleted as out of scope - but you couldn't use it in any wikipedia articles as it is not a real depiction of anything - so what would be the point? Additionally, I simply don't believe you created all the elements in that image yourself. Look, all this is really going too far. If you weren't so damn disruptive and obstinate, and you didn't edit war instead of talking to people then they might be prepared to help you. As it is you're just a timesink, and your disruption will get you blocked if you carry on. -- Begoon 02:55, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
@Begoon: , I am talking about second image. Sorry for my ignorance, but I used Adobe Spark that uses pixabay, which allows to use images anyway you want (https://pixabay.com/service/license/). Thanks and sorry for bad behavior. Will be more communicative next time. Thanks a lot! Kundakundakunda (talk) 03:13, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
If it's from Pixabay, use the template {{Pixabay}} on it, but complete the template correctly - follow the instructions on the template. There's really not much point though, because you can't use your own amateur drawings of book covers, imaginary or not, to illustrate wikipedia articles. I haven't got time to say or do anything else about this right now, but I will tell you that although I am a very patient person that does have limits, and you are very close to them. -- Begoon 03:19, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
Actually, now I look closer, you can't use a pixabay license, because, according to the template: "media published on Pixabay from 9 January 2019 onwards is not considered to be freely licensed and can't be accepted on Commons" - so ignore my advice to use that template as it appears Commons can't accept the file at all. Not that it's really important, because you can't use it for what you wanted to use it for anyway - but I wanted to update the advice I gave you, for accuracy. -- Begoon 05:29, 31 May 2019 (UTC)

A request

Hi. Sorry to disturb, but I would like to ask you if it is possible for you to remove the microphone here, just like you did here. Have a nice day. Sebastian James (talk) 09:41, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

Ugh. I'm not keen. That's a huge amount of obscured face to guess/reconstruct including bits of nose, chin and a third of her mouth. I think I might have to pass on this one, sorry. You can post it at the Graphics lab if you like - someone may have a go - but I'm not convinced I could get an acceptable result without just plain "making up" stuff that isn't there. Sorry. -- Begoon 09:47, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

RE: File:Ariana Grande Elle 2018.png

Hello Begoon. Please check here for where to find license on Vimeo. Also, I think Mr. Armentrout has the rights on the video, since he's the cinematographer/author; I can't find reasons to think otherwise, but I may be wrong. Kind regards. --Chiyako92 (talk) 07:07, 9 June 2019 (UTC)

Heh - I must be going blind - I missed that "more" link... Ok, that's the claimed license. My other concern is that if he prepared it for "Elle" then it might be a "work for hire" to which "Elle" hold the rights, but I'm happy to assume good faith that if he is claiming that license then he must believe he is entitled to, according to the arrangements he has. Thanks for the quick response. -- Begoon 07:15, 9 June 2019 (UTC)

validating

I saw you validate several svgs. I am doing similar work on SVGs, but some invalid elements, such as aria-label should be IMHO kept. It is as far as I know a valid SVG2.0-element and does not do any harm, but removing does. I can be seen that is is a bug of the validator, and not of the svg-file and won't lead to a render-bug. I know that SVG 2.0 is still a working draft, but there is no sense in removing such elements, as you did in File:Emblem_of_Nur-Sultan-1.svg. I made a essay about optimization containing a list of invalid elements that should be kept: User:JoKalliauer/Optimization#invalid_elements_that_should_be_kept.

At the beginning of my work on commons (2017) I also validated svgs, just to validate them, but there are several reasons why validating is often undesired (if you are not the original uploader), and leaded to reverts (e.g. File:Liberty_Bell_icon.svg).

 — Johannes Kalliauer - Talk | Contributions 16:17, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

That's useful, thanks. I hadn't realised that was the point of aria-label, I confess. When I looked into it quickly I only found it as an html attribute for labelling tags, so it didn't seem particularly useful in an svg - if I'd looked at the attribute contents more closely it would have made more sense. If there's a substantial amount of text I tend to duplicate it in a hidden layer when converting to a path is necessary, and someone removing that would be annoying. -- Begoon 16:36, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
Sorry I forgot to explain aria-label, but I think you found it out on your own. :-) And I personally agree with the two layers (hidden-real-text and {{Path text SVG}}), but I know some who scrub files too agressiv (not you) and remove all hidden elements, therfore I often to move the text 1000px sideways out of the visible viewBox (e.g. File:Essigsäuresynthesen.svg), I personally find {{Path text SVG}} often to harsh. However it seems to me that you generally validate cautiously/carefully (I had to look thought several files to find a "mistake"). If you have any suggestions/improvements/comments to User:JoKalliauer/Optimization I am happy to hear them.  — Johannes Kalliauer - Talk | Contributions 17:06, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
I forgot to mention, you might want to take a look at https://github.com/RazrFalcon/svgcleaner which is very configurable, and I've used both as a CLI and GUI with pretty good results. Sometimes I'll use that just to tidy indents etc, but it has a zillion options. Obviously one needs to be careful and aware of what it's doing, which is why I don't usually recommend any utilities like this if I'm asked by general 'users', but this one is actually quite useful, with those provisos. -- Begoon 07:55, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
I reported many issues of svgcleaner: https://github.com/RazrFalcon/svgcleaner/issues?q=author%3AJoKalliauer , so I use it on my own. I use svgcleaner in https://tools.wmflabs.org/svgworkaroundbot/ and for User:SVGWorkaroundBot (see Special:ListFiles/SVGWorkaroundBot). Till 2018 it was mantained better than scour/svgo. I think @RazrFalcon: currently developes resvg, which might will replace librsvg on Commons, see phab:T40010#5270643, which seems to be an improvement (and faster mantainence).  — Johannes Kalliauer - Talk | Contributions 14:23, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
Cool - obviously you're already all over it. I'm no huge rsvg fan, so provided the replacement is reliable I'm all for trying something better. -- Begoon 14:42, 13 July 2019 (UTC)

Need help

I have vectorized File:Transit timetable.svg, first two columns looks Bold after uploading, howeve in Inkscape it looks normal. Kindly help. --Sushant savla (talk) 16:33, 17 July 2019 (UTC)

@Sushant savla: It is because of phab:T207506. It got fixed by @SVGWorkaroundBot: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/archive/a/ac/20190717205007!Transit_timetable.svg/1200px-Transit_timetable.svg.png. I reuploaded twice a different version, because the thumbnail seems not to be updated on my computer, however on File:Test.svg it worked. Maybe the server has a caching-problem (even ?action=purge did not help and changing browser did not help) or I am confused (or just too tired). I changed some spacings if you don't like it revert it to the version of User:SVGWorkaroundBot.  — Johannes Kalliauer - Talk | Contributions 21:31, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
The server seems to not update the cache, see Commons:Help_desk#can_someone_help_me_clearing_the_cache? and phab:T228433, so the file should be ok, only the preview is out of date.  — Johannes Kalliauer - Talk | Contributions 15:16, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
Checkmark This section is resolved and can be archived. If you disagree, replace this template with your comment.  — Johannes Kalliauer - Talk | Contributions 18:27, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Honda

Hi Begoon, could you help recode this file? Thank you. (Talk/留言/토론/Discussion) 08:11, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

✓ Done - extracted from https://www.honda.com.au/content/dam/honda/en/auto/campaign/50th/honda-logo-50-years-large.svg. -- Begoon 08:47, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

Air Malta

Thank you. Could you also fix File:Air Malta (2012).svg? (Talk/留言/토론/Discussion) 04:24, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
I could only find a couple of "niggles" in the header that didn't seem to be affecting anything - missing opening declaration like <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> and some !ENTITY references - but they all only threw "warnings". Was there some visual or technical issue you meant which I missed? -- Begoon 04:41, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
To me, there is rendering issues with the file where only 1/2 of the red portion can be seen, other 1/2 is transparent. (Talk/留言/토론/Discussion) 04:43, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
There are transparent 'triangles' top left (15%ish) and bottom right(30%ish), making it look like a 'sash'. Isn't that what it's supposed to look like? Can you link to an example (on the AirMalta page or elsewhere) of what you think it should look like. I do get a different thumbnail in Windows 7, funnily enough, where the red is almost rectangular, but this search does nothing but confuse me. -- Begoon 04:52, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
rsvg, Inkscape, IE, Firefox, Illustrator 6, GIMP 2.1 all show the 'sash'. Irfanview shows an almost complete rectangle with a small rectangular 'sliver' missing top left (and that's what the odd Windows 7 thumbnail looks like too). Unless I know what it should look like I'm struggling - there's something 'spooky' going on here, but quite what I can't tell at the moment, and I have to go out for a couple of hours right now. Ideally, I'd like to get it from an AirMalta document like a pdf - but I don't have time to search until later. -- Begoon 05:13, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
  • Of course, the other obvious question is "should it be here anyway?" I'm not very generous with my personal interpretations of TOO because I think we don't give designers enough credit for their creativity - but that's another issue - this looks like a very generous use of pd-textlogo whatever one's personal feelings are... -- Begoon 05:31, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
The thumbnail view looks ok but if I try to use it or if it's in PNG preview, the lower half of it is missing (the portion below the line seperating the 2 tones of red). See [1] (Talk/留言/토론/Discussion) 05:51, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
Ok, yeah, I could find examples with that problem, notably in the "summary" on google search pages. I did find an 'official' pdf, but the gradients were bitmaps or other 'foreign' objects so didn't translate from pdf to svg - so, as a last resort I redrew the gradients and recreated the objects without the "clipping" that seemed to be problematic. I don't get the spooky windows 7 thumbnails any more, and it seems otherwise ok. If it doesn't work ok for you now, after you clear all caches etc, I give up... -- Begoon 09:53, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
Its ok now. Thanks!! (Talk/留言/토론/Discussion) 09:55, 9 August 2019 (UTC)

You're a legend thanks so much! :), –Dave | Davey2010Talk 12:04, 23 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi Begoon. Could you help by recoding this file? It seems to have rendering issues. Thank you. (Talk/留言/토론/Discussion) 14:27, 31 August 2019 (UTC)

I couldn't find much wrong with that. There were some 'missing' stop offset="0" in the gradients and some of the ids started with a numeric digit instead of beginning with an alpha - apart from that all I could do was tidy/'pretty' up the code a bit. If you still see issues could you tell me exactly what they are (including OS and browser) (and preferably a link so I can replicate).

The source link is dead for me, so if you know an update for that, that would be useful too. Without a source to compare to I have to basically just assume that the gradients are "correct" visually. I can find: this on archive.org, but the downloads from github/subdirectory links don't work/aren't archived... Thanks. -- Begoon 23:37, 31 August 2019 (UTC)

Thank you, the file looks ok now. As for the source, I can't seem to find it. (Talk/留言/토론/Discussion) 07:37, 1 September 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for improving on this file. If it's not too much for me to ask of you, can you possibly try overwriting the file with your own version based on King George VI LOC matpc.14736 (cropped).jpg? It's just that PawełMM has inadvertently obscured a few elements in the image (such as the tip of the sceptre). Thanks anyway. AlbanGeller (talk) 00:12, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

Ugh... I should have noticed that. Never mind, ✓ Done. I reworked it from the original (which is what I should have done in the first place, instead of trying to be a bit "lazy") - it's surprisingly easier and quicker the "second time around" while the previous processing is still in one's mind... -- Begoon 01:11, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
Thanks Begoon. Can you possibly improve the brightness/contrast? AlbanGeller (talk) 21:27, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
Well, I just put some more brightness in the midtones, but I wouldn't want to go much further than that - it could start to "wash out" in areas if boosted much more. -- Begoon 21:37, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

Hi again, Begoon. Can you possibly crop this file to more portrait-like dimensions and improve the brightness/contrast? AlbanGeller (talk) 13:34, 12 November 2019 (UTC)

Hi Begoon. If you have the chance to, can you possibly try creating a derivative based on this file, cropping it to portrait dimensions and improving the overall quality of the image? AlbanGeller (talk) 20:44, 16 November 2019 (UTC)

AlbanGeller, the problems are that [a] the top of his head is always going to be cut off, [b] apart from the hair near/the tip of his ear there really is next to no usable image data in the left hand 40%ish of his face. I've done File:Michael Martin MP (cropped).jpg as a demonstration of what happens when the white levels are ramped up as far as I really dare. Even there, some defects are starting to be created and some areas look very 'blown out'. Now, that could be tidied/cleaned up a little, and the levels tinkered with some more - but you're never going to get away from the fact that it's a "moody" black/white shot with the top of his head cut off and nearly half his face in darkness... It's hard to believe there are no better free images of him, given his prominence... (all that being said, I do quite like the original, as a piece of 'art'). -- Begoon 02:29, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
I understand.  Thank you. AlbanGeller (talk) 05:37, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
Begoon, do you think colorising the photo might be a good idea? AlbanGeller (talk) 14:58, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
Well, I'm not really a big fan of doing that, it always seems rather "false" and "non-authentic" to me, and, as I said, I do quite like the original, as a piece of 'art'... but here's File:Michael Martin MP (cropped, coloured).jpg as a quick edit for you to look at. -- Begoon 00:37, 18 November 2019 (UTC)

Hi Begoon. When you find the time, can you please have a look at creating a JPEG version of this TIFF file, removing the scratches, sharpening and fixing the colours (albeit with no cropping)? AlbanGeller (talk) 20:34, 20 November 2019 (UTC)

That's the same image as File:Margaret Thatcher.png isn't it? I'll certainly have a look at it for you in the next day or two, but I'm not sure how much "better" anything I would do would be than that file and its various derivatives. -- Begoon 03:14, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
It's the original image. The various derivatives you mention each have their own issues. Margaret Thatcher.png is rendered poorly (as PNG files often are) by MediaWiki on Wikipedia, in that it appears blurry and lacks focus. The rendering of Margaret Thatcher portrait.jpg (the exact JPEG version of the PNG) is especially lossy. But I would note that for one of the derivative crops, namely Margaret Thatcher cropped2.png, the exposure on her face is a visible improvement (in contrast with Margaret Thatcher (cropped).png). AlbanGeller (talk) 06:26, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
Ok. I hadn't looked at them too closely, but I did notice you'd done the "right" thing by creating archival/thumbnailing copies to work around this extremely irritating issue of 'blurry' png thumbnailing which mediawiki devs still seem inexplicably reluctant to address...(c:Commons:Graphic Lab/Photography workshop/Archive/2018#Margaret Thatcher and phabricator:phab:T192744)

I'll take a look at it in the next couple of days with those thoughts in mind. If you feel like adding a comment to that phab ticket please do, by the way. -- Begoon 06:34, 21 November 2019 (UTC)

Begoon, would you be able to look at it in the coming week? AlbanGeller (talk) 11:44, 24 November 2019 (UTC)
Yes. I haven't had enough time, as I've been travelling, but I haven't forgotten it. -- Begoon 11:54, 24 November 2019 (UTC)
  • Ok - hard to know exactly what to do with this one, so I did "something" at File:Margaret Thatcher stock portrait.jpg as a bit of a "prototype" to get the ball rolling. I didn't want to do too much "tidying up" until we decide which way to go, so it still has imperfections. Your comments are welcome. -- Begoon 07:40, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
Thanks Begoon, it's certainly an improvement. I'm happy with this. AlbanGeller (talk) 20:04, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
Just to clarify, I'm fine with this as the way to go. AlbanGeller (talk) 04:35, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
Ok, well I've gone just about as far as I think I should with it now, regained a bit of texture in the jacket and generally cleaned up. A wise man once told me that the greatest skill in adjusting/retouching images is to know when to stop, so unless there's still something glaringly obvious which I missed I might leave it there. -- Begoon 06:01, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
Thanks so much, Begoon. Can I just ask one more thing? You see, I am trying to create a crop of the new file (via CropTool) in order for the width to match that of Margaret Thatcher.png (790 pixels), although I'm unable to achieve this losslessly. Would you be able to create a separate, lossless (790px-wide) version, cropping space from the left side, of Margaret Thatcher stock portrait.jpg? AlbanGeller (talk) 15:53, 28 November 2019 (UTC)
    File:Margaret Thatcher stock portrait (cropped).jpg.

The crop tool, I believe, uses jpegtran to crop (or Jcrop which is similarly constrained), and from jpegtran's manual: ".. lossless crop is restricted by the current JPEG format: the upper left corner of the selected region must fall on an iMCU [8 or 16] boundary. If this does not hold for the given crop parameters, we silently move the upper left corner up and/or left to make it so, simultaneously increasing the region dimensions to keep the lower right crop corner unchanged. (Thus, the output image covers at least the requested region, but may cover more.)". The crop I have produced for you, instead, comes from the same Photoshop PSD master file, so no loss should be involved, although the compression may be slightly different, and I can crop to the exact pixel (but only because I have that master). -- Begoon 20:57, 28 November 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for File:SG badge (cropped).jpg, but...

the reason why I created File:SG Bagde and Sleeve Tab (cropped).jpg (despite not being good at drawing) is because the original picture is full of scratches (which look like flying bats). Could you please modify File:SG Bagde and Sleeve Tab (cropped).jpg instead?

I asked you because I am too lazy to learn photo editing. But I later redacted my request because I felt shy.— Vaibhavafro💬 07:32, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

Ok - but you really shouldn't upscale images like that - it degrades the quality, that's why I went back to the original (I didn't notice you'd retouched the cropped version) - I'm going to downscale it again when I do it - there's really no reason for it to be so blown up. -- Begoon 07:48, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

tagging files as no permission which already have OTRS permisison

Hello. Could you please elaborate, for example File:Abdaly Nuraliyev.jpg? Thank you. --Krd 11:02, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

Yeah - mistake, apologies - I'm undoing it now. -- Begoon 11:04, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
Thx. --Krd 11:06, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
Krd, just to elaborate - after cropping File:Dariga Nazarbayeva 2019-10-17.jpg to replace an invalid fair use file at en.wiki, I thought, hmm.. that might not be "own work", and glanced at the user's other uploads to see a raft of similar ones. I didn't look hard enough, and missed the extant OTRS which was on most of them, and very unwisely unleashed VFC. I've removed the "no permission" tag from all of them now, even the ones without OTRS, because the user seems obviously in good faith. Apologies again for the brain-fart and clumsy disruption - I'm usually a lot more careful than that. Thanks for spotting my error. -- Begoon 11:37, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
No problem, thank you for your quick reaction! --Krd 12:29, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

@Begoon: I investigated the image of Jean-Michel Basquiat and unfortunately they eliminated it, but an abusive and arbitrary user denounced it without reason and eliminated it, and here is the evidence https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Jean-Michel_Basquiat_(cropped).jpg&action=edit&redlink=1 --Aurelio de Sandoval (talk) 01:28, 24 January 2020 (UTC)

I removed File:Retail_Sales_of_Licensed_Merchandise_2016.png from the Wikipedia Superman article because it's two years out of date. I update the stats in the article body. You might want to create an updated graph. Cheers. Kurzon (talk) 09:31, 14 March 2020 (UTC)

Pay attention to copyright
File:Ludy Benjamin (cropped).jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

  • This file is a copyright violation for the following reason: This is a derivative of another image currently nominated for speedy deletion. The current terms linked on the page specifically exclude commercial usage and derivative works (including derivative separation of images from accompanying text). The website contents are specifically released under CC-BY-NC 3.0. Internet archive shows the same terms were in place in 2017 prior to upload to Commons (https://web.archive.org/web/20170307140202/https://www.tandfonline.com/terms-and-conditions).
Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Notification about possible deletion

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

I would like to let you know that File:NBC Peacock logo 2013.svg was recently deleted, if you disagree with the deletion you are requested to file an un-deletion request at Commons:Undeletion requests/Current requests. SVG Magic on File:Nouvelle-France map-en.svg

Hello @Begoon: , I see you're not really active at the moment, but I was hoping you could look at File:Nouvelle-France map-en.svg, which you've done a bit of work on. It has more SVG magic going on with it than I'm comfortable touching, but the location currently marked as "Fort Rosalie" is actually the location of Natchitoches / Fort St. Jean Baptiste. Fort Rosalie is near the modern city of Natchez, Mississippi, further to the east and a little south. If you could relabel or move the starburst, it would be appreacited. —Tcr25 (talk) 21:30, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
