Your first link was not about copyright or trademark issues, your quotes were completely out of context. The page was about
"Stop Logo Cruelty, Be sure to follow these basic rules to make sure your projects look their best and that the logo is always presented in the best possible light. Wondering how all these logo guidelines work? The simple rule is just don’t make any alterations, but for more specifics scroll through these examples:".
That is a page of guidelines for using the logo in relation to mozilla firefox projects - guidelines, not copyright restrictions. Their legal page is all about use of their trademark, all pretty standard trademark stuff, again not about copyright. We have no problem with hosting trademarks, we have a disclaimer about people having to check their usuage complies with those laws. --Tony Wills (talk) 00:47, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

By the same logic logos of Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Opera should be accepted as well, right? Is that what you advocate? Because I don't see any of those original logos on Commons BartłomiejB (talk) 00:54, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you know any current and official statement from Mozilla Corp. that says that logo of Firefox is not copyrighted (or on free license), then point me to it, please. I'll even help you with undeletion request if you find such official statement. As far as I can tell, however, file browser/LICENSE from FF sources says:
(...) You are not granted rights or licenses to the trademarks of the Mozilla Foundation or any party, including without limitation the Firefox name or logo. BartłomiejB (talk) 01:39, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
