Hello Anas, nice to meet you! I'm your fellow Syrian from Damascus, and I'm very glad that you're interested in the file I made for the Alawi distribution map. First off, let me say that when I made that map, I did a ton of research on the topic to find out exactly how Alawis distribute in Syria. Before I explain to you the map itself, I'd like you to take a good look at this map, as it effectively explains all unconventional spots in the map. After taking a look at it, I'd like you to go back to here to see my counterarguments of your proposals. I notice that your main arguements are concerned with Tal-Kalakh and West Idlib, please see my rebuttals and tell me what you think. Thanks, bye. Moester101 (talk) 04:30, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
Hey I read your comments, even if I still disagree with them I'd still like to see what you added to the image. To update the image with your own, follow these steps: go to the file's wikimedia location. Under section "File history" click link "upload a new version of this file". Follow the directions on the bottom of the page starting with "Source file". It should be easy from there. One more thing, If you want to see where wadi alnasara is located, see this map that I created earlier, it will point the christian majority area in west Homs. Thanks, bye. Hey, I saw your new edit to the pic. Can't complain too much, but there are some edits you made that worried me. First-off, why did you delete the Christian majority area north of Latakia city and make it as alawite? Second, your map makes the northwestern tip of wadi alnasara look alawi, but it's not, so why did you change that too? Third and lastly, why did you make all of east Hatay non-alawi? Asides from that, your edits are acceptable. I think I'll make a finalized version with your edits integrated which has the original file size, while still looking nice since the places you edited look a little discolored. Anyways let me know and I'll get back to you ASAP. Moester101 (talk) 04:47, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed[edit]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Ass711. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Ass711~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
