--Arnd (talk) 05:59, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

Daily gallery updater has failed on User:Aschroet/Uploads/Thuringia
Hello. This message is to inform you that a daily gallery in your userspace, User:Aschroet/Uploads/Thuringia, has failed. Due to software limitations, the bot has a hard upper-limit of about 6000 files per day (including overflow galleries), while your gallery had 37805 files.
This usually happens because a gallery is too broad, encompassing too many subcategories. Please review the logs here and request that a subcategory be excluded, or narrow your category choice(s).
Please make your request for removal within 4 days, or your gallery will be subject to removal.
Thank you. Magog the Ogre (via OgreBot (talk) 03:25, 23 April 2017 (UTC))

Your VFC installation method is deprecated
Hello Aschroet, we are aware that using the old installation method of VFC (via common.js, which you are using) may not work reliably anymore and can break other scripts as well. A detailed explanation can be found here. Important: To prevent problems please remove the old VFC installation code from your common.js and instead enable the VFC gadget in your preferences. Thanks! --VFC devs (q) 16:24, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi Aschroet. --Leyo 12:23, 9 June 2017 (UTC)

We had a large discussion last year about the dots in the source field and we came to the agreement that they would not be remove, only replaced by something more suitable if desired. All those files have been checked and for copyright reasons no more source information is needed, e.g. because the source is somewhere else on the page. No need to throw them back in the already severely backlogged Category:Images without source. I am reverting these edits. It's hard enough to handle this huge backlog without such actions. Jcb (talk) 09:30, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
- Jcb, did not know about it. Thanks for being patient. However, wouldn't it be more appropriate to have a tiny template for this case, saying that the source is mentioned somewhere else. This way we are able to distinguish between theses cases and uploads where the usere just add a dot to avoid trouble. --Arnd (talk) 09:47, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
- Since last September I always do such a thing, that was also part of the agreement. Jcb (talk) 09:49, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
- These dots are nonsense. They need to be replaced by something more useful such as {{unknown|source}} or similar. --Leyo 12:26, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

Massenänderung
Hallo!
--Arnd (talk) 05:35, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
File:Cigarette vending machine Golmsdorf.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

VisualFileChange-Änderung
Hallo Aschroet,

--Arnd (talk) 13:46, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hallo Aschroet, danke fürs Korrigieren! Grüße --Rufus46 (talk) 18:10, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

In Autumn 2017, the Structured Commons development team works on the following major tasks (see also the quarterly goals for the team):
- Getting Multi-Content Revisions sufficiently ready, so that the Multimedia and Search Platform teams can start using it to test and prototype things.
- Determine metrics and metrics baseline for Commons (phabricator task T174519).
