Pacific Airlines has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category. In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! |

Month Year in City
Hi, please stop what you're doing - it is completely pointless, given that London is really the only city where it's worth having month categories. Instead you're making it harder to find, because instead of being at the county level (which greater London effectively is) you're putting it in its own subcat. -mattbuck (Talk) 15:32, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- If you insist on this, please do it using the {{Minx}} template, so there is still some navigability. The syntax you want is {{minx|City|Month|Year|England by city}}. -mattbuck (Talk) 22:20, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- Or {{minx|City|Month|Year|England by county}}.
- Also, please stop removing dates from the sortkey. They are there to sort things by date, which seems to me like a good idea in date categories. -mattbuck (Talk) 10:47, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
- Or {{minx|City|Month|Year|England by county}}.
- Something just occurred to me - there may be issues arising with the category name "in England by city". It may well be that you end up with places like Reading, which may warrant the month categorisation, but are not actually cities. -mattbuck (Talk) 17:48, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Bristol
Bristol is not in Gloucestershire. Bristol is its own separate county (stupidly), divorced from the old constituents of Avon (North Somerset, South Glos, BANES). I'm not entirely sure where the old Soms/Glos border was, but it was somewhere down the middle of Bristol which made for a right faff. Certain areas of the Bristol conurbation are within South Gloucestershire, but some are within North Somerset or BANES, so it depends how you look at it really. Certainly, X in Bristol should not be a subcat of X in Glos or Soms, but certain images should probably have 2 date categories, for being within the Bristol conurbation but outside the city boundary. -mattbuck (Talk) 18:02, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- Will you PLEASE be a bit more careful with your edits. If something is in two "Year in X" categories, it's like that for a reason, and so after your edit should be in two "Month year in X" categories, not one. -mattbuck (Talk) 23:24, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
automatic m-in-x categories
Hi - I see you've added month in location categories to some of my images. I use a personalised information template which automatically sets these. At the moment, most of these are given a location of England, but if a more localised category exists you can change it with the location =
parameter (e.g. [1]). Obviously this only applies to my images, as it relies on my template. I'll localise some of the locations myself. An optimist on the run! 17:47, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Category:Aircraft registered in Finland sort keys
Hello, please don't remove sort keys from aircraft subcatories in Category:Aircraft registered in Finland as you did with Revision of Category:OH-LRB_(aircraft) and Revision of Category:OH-ATH (aircraft). Category:Aircraft registered in Finland is currently sorted per the -XXX suffix in aircraft registration since every aircraft subcategory in this category begins with OH-. Notification about possible deletion
Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.
If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |
