Estonian translations needed[edit]

Hi! I contact you as you speak English and Estonian.

Jastrow and I are working on autotranslating Meta information museum, the meta-template we use for many museums, like Information Louvre. Could you please help us find Estonian translations for every tag name:

 * artist/maker
 * description
 * dimensions
 * credit line
 * accession number
 * location
 * source/photographer
 * references
 * other versions

"Credit line" is mainly about the mode of acquisition: what collection does it come from? Did it join the collections by gift, purchase, on loan, etc.?

Thanks for any help. Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 10:22, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lets try:

 • kunstnik/looja
 • kirjeldus
 • mõõdud
 • omandisuhted
 • inventarinumber
 • asukoht
 • allikas/fotograaf
 • viited
 • teised versioonid

"omandisuhted" kirjeldavad peamiselt teose omandamise viisi: kust kogu pärineb? Kas see on saadud kingitusena, ostes, laenuks, jne.? --Ahsoous (talk) 16:08, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but, as I don't speak Estonian at all, I can't understand your last sentence. Could you try it in English/French/German? Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 16:44, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I just created the appropriate subtemplate. Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 16:47, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I simply translated Your last sentence, maybe its helpful for others, when they submit information - Ahsoous (talk) 18:22, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake; I should have guess. Thanks a lot! Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 20:35, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Ahsoous!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

This message was added automatically by Nikbot, if you need some help about it please read the text above again and follow the links in it, if you still need help ask at the ? Commons:Help desk in any language you like to use. --Nikbot 20:55, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Missing arguments[edit]

Hello. You declined my picture with a spurious argument. The size of the file plays no role, only for the MP does. For the latter there is a threshold of 2 megapixels but this picture has 5 times more. I don't want to believe that your hollow decline was due to my decline of your picture (I see that it was the first at all that you proposed). Please, act in consecuence an either retire your comment or provide valid arguments, and read the guidelines to review pictures for QI. I would also ask you to consider first gaining some experience in the page before you review the work of others. Me, for example, started reviewing pictures from other users after 100 of my pictures were granted QI. Poco a poco (talk) 21:18, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Seems that we both wrote messages to each other in the same time (when I saved my message I noticed that here). Hope that this isn't problem. -- Ahsoous (talk) 21:34, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No, that is not a problem. I don't agree with your comments and can guarantee that I didn't compress it too much or whatever. I do believe that -although that is not for sure the picture of the year- meets the QI criteria, therefore I will ask for an additional opinion. Poco a poco (talk) 21:45, 6 June 2012 (UTC) PD: When you leave a message, please, open a section.[reply]
There are maybe things what we understand differently. For me - that picture isn't bad, but quality isn't the best. Really I think if You resampled/resized that image for example to 3Mpix then that image will look much better. But if You noticed that thing, that image what I propose, was the first one, what I proposed, then I must say also, that I thought its 101st(?) picture of mine, which is in wikimedia commons, and even one picture I can propose. I think that these pictures of mine 1 and 2 are maybe even better, but after Your comment I think, it's probably better not to suggest these. Or what do You think? -- Ahsoous (talk) 23:05, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
