Hello Abbasi sb,
Thank you so much for providing such a brilliant work. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Christian_Proportion_by_Pakistani_District_-_2017_Census.svg
I want to ask you, can you please provide the source regarding the statistics so I can cite it in my work. Secondly do I have permission to use it?
Can you please reply me soon.
Thanks,
W/salam
Imran ImranKJ (talk) 12:43, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are definitely allowed to use this work, it is a Commons license.
I get my data from the official website pbs.gov.pk, go to the left side and click on the Census table, and navigate to District results 2017 -- Abbasi786786 (talk) 13:09, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The site pbs.gov.pk is not working on my end. ImranKJ (talk) 13:19, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Secondly how to cite this map? If possible shall I mention your name/work place? ImranKJ (talk) 13:20, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are not required to cite anything as now my work is under Creative Commons.
If you'd really wish, I suggest you say either "By Abbasi786786 on Wikimedia Commons" or link to my e-mail, which is abdullahaliabbasi786@gmail.com Abbasi786786 (talk) 13:35, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Abbasi,
Are you talking about this link?
https://www.pbs.gov.pk/content/final-results-census-2017
I can't see Christian proportion mentioned on the above link as per your map. Please help. ImranKJ (talk) 13:29, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Go through this link
https://www.pbs.gov.pk/census-2017-district-wise
Check Table 09 of each district
There is no fast way to do this, I made my maps through individually checking the raw numbers for each district. -- Abbasi786786 (talk) 13:34, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are genius. Thanks! ImranKJ (talk) 13:37, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
AoA Abbasi sb,
Under this article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_Pakistan
your maps are mentioned.
Above your map this chart is mentioned with the title "Pakistan Religious diversity as per (2017 census)"
If I used your map and this table the numbers don't match. Do you have any graph that correspondence with your
Christian population in Pakistan? ImranKJ (talk) 11:42, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I do.
Look at this table.
https://www.pbs.gov.pk/sites/default/files/population/2017/tables/pakistan/Table09n.pdf
The table on the article is wrong.-- Abbasi786786 (talk) 13:10, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! ImranKJ (talk) 17:33, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Mr. Abbasi
About this map, do you allow permission to use it in the research. Thanks. Humayun Saif (talk) 10:20, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Humayun Saif: They are licensed under Creative Commons so you will have to check those requirements. -- Abbasi786786 (talk) 10:30, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Where to find those requirements, its your id mentioned under the map. Humayun Saif (talk) 10:35, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Abbasi786786, please see Commons:User-specific_galleries,_templates_and_categories#Categories. And thanks for the new maps. Great work. --2003:E5:370E:5200:8970:3048:4333:7F7B 12:37, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for showing me this and also doing the leg work by moving my categories (it's also nice you didn't move the image files themselves from the categories too). I really appreciate it. -- Abbasi786786 (talk) 13:13, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Relgions in Pakistan Maps[edit]

Hey Abbasi, great work as always on the maps.

However, I have a request, can you please relabel the maps that you have created on Ahmadis from Qadiani to Ahmadi, as Qadiani is an offensive term:

Qadiani or Qadiyani (Urdu: قادیانی, Hindi: क़ादियानी; qādiyānī) is a religious slur used to refer to Ahmadi Muslims, primarily in Pakistan.[1] The term originates from Qadian, a small town in northern India, the birthplace of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the founder of the Ahmadiyya movement.

Check[edit]

Hello,

Please check this discussion I started: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Annual_population_growth_rate_by_U.S._state.svg --Criticalthinker (talk) 08:58, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Additional districts of Gilgit-Baltistan are found[edit]

I've found two of the three additional districts of Gilgit-Baltistan depicted at Gilgit-Baltistan map with tehsils labelled.png. Please update your Blank Districts of Pakistan.svg map. --Soumya-8974 (he) (talkcontribs) 14:08, 25 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Soumya-8974: Thank you for the notification! Check the map again, and the four districts are there (that guy doesn't list the sources he used to make his map so I went and searched for more reliable ones). -- Abbasi786786 (talk) 13:56, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Appreciation[edit]

Just want to appreciate your efforts. I have been looking for such a map from at least 2017, and now I have got one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeera101 (talk • contribs) 11:16, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Jeera101: Well, at some point I was also looking for that map. Glad to have helped :) -- Abbasi786786 (talk) 03:24, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A Small correction[edit]

(moved and shrunk image, it took up too much space when you displayed it lol) -- Abbasi786786 (talk) 03:25, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

In the pic File:Hindu Proportion by Pakistani District - 2017 Census.svg there is an error

In balochistan, the kacchi district is shown as having a Hindu population above 2-5% but it is not correct as the Hindu population in Kacchi district is only 1.04% . Instead it is the Sibi district (2.4%) that has population between 2-5%. I think you colored the wrong district. So please correct it. Banksboomer (talk) 13:04, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Banksboomer: Hi there, I really appreciate you checking for any mistakes I may have made while making the map. I must apologize though and say that actually, the highlighted district (with the notch in its Northeast) is Sibi District, while the district directly to its West is called Kachhi District. You can see this more clearly if you take a look at official (though slightly outdated) maps of Balochistan districts, here and here. -- Abbasi786786 (talk) 03:24, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

New data for 2017 Pakistan census[edit]

Hello Abbasi ! Thank you for your maps on 2017 Pakistan census, it is really helpful .

If you are interested, I have put the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics data in order here, with the %, for mother tongue (#Langue) and literacy (#Alphabétisation) by districts, if you want to make more maps.

As PBS does not provide the rate for religion, I presume you made the same calculation to make the map. If you have the data somewhere, I'm interested. Guillaume70 (talk) 14:03, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Guillaume70: Hey there man, thank you very much for creating these tables, which are going to be an excellent resource for all people. Unfortunately, I do not have similar religious tables, I manually entered the data into a physical calculator and filled them out individually. In hindsight perhaps it'd have been better to go about your method -- Abbasi786786 (talk) 16:34, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Population Density by Pakistani District map[edit]

Hi,

First of all, thanks a lot for all those great maps you've made on Pakistan. But I just have to mention, that I've noticed that you mentioned Karachi Central twice in the top 10 districts in terms of density. Did you mean Karachi South for one of them by any chance? Thanks. A Fantasy (talk) 04:01, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@A Fantasy: Yes, I certainly did mean that. Thank you for noticing the error. It will be fixed within the week when I am able.
Also, just so you know, if you notice any of these errors on my other maps, you do not need my permission to fix the mistakes :) -- Abbasi786786 (talk) 16:34, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, btw can you please provide me with the links to the sources where you got this data from, like languages, population etc? Thanks A Fantasy (talk) 15:04, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@A Fantasy: Sorry for taking so long to get back to you
I've finally fixed the issue with the population density map, and while I'm sure you've found the data source by now, here it is:
https://www.pbs.gov.pk/content/district-wise-results-tables-census-2017
Hope this helps -- Abbasi786786 (talk) 15:44, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey[edit]

Hey,

I love your map work and was wondering if you mind creating a map of Youth Literacy rate in Pakistan (15-24), like you did for the Adult Literacy rate one. I've found information on Youth Literacy rate by districts here: https://www.pbs.gov.pk/sites/default/files//pslm/publications/pslm_district_2019-20/PSLM_2019_20_District_Level.pdf

Thanks :) A Fantasy (talk) 01:26, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Punjabi language map[edit]

Hi Abbas!

I saw your language maps, and I think they're truly great! I was wondering if you could make a separate map for the Punjabi language in Pakistan, but without the district (and maybe provincial borders too?) - something like this? I was actually looking to make a united Punjab map - but unfortunately I'm not educated on editing SVG files. نعم البدل (talk) 18:56, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kazakhstan Population Pyramid[edit]

Hey, I saw your population pyramid. I've been wanting to do a pyramid for Kazakhstan since the data was so off, but to my surprise someone had done it already. It looks great! I've been working on improving the pyramids lately, and I'm glad you follow the same color scheme and figured out how to replicate. It's good to standardize. If you ever want to discuss pyramid creation, feel free to message. Tallungs (talk) 09:13, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Tallungs: Sure thing!
It was tough but some YouTube video tutorials taught me how to make the pyramid and I really liked your style, it definitely should be standard.
Only thing I didn't figure out that I'd like to improve is how you got the lines over the pyramid, mine is covering it. -- Abbasi786786 (talk) 00:19, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Abbasi786786: I'm flattered. I in turn have adapted ideas from others, that's how progress is made. Standing on the sholders of giants and all. I think your version might look better, I'll consider using thicker lines like you. To get them to overlap I increased transparency. So to keep the color you need to decrease the amount of white.
My most recent pyramid is France: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:France_Population_Pyramid.svg
I tried a different style, but not sure if it's better of worse. Tallungs (talk) 10:52, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A kitten for you![edit]

Please fix map[edit]

Hello, can you please retitle Household Firearm Ownership Rate by U.S. state.svg, and change the wording embedded within it, to identify that these are estimates of household firearm ownership, not hard data? Thanks. Anastrophe (talk) 02:12, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Great map. Can you add the data table at the bottom of the file description page? It is OK to do this there.

Various editors put the data table on their file description pages after the licenses, etc.. Or provide the data table here below, and I will do it. --Timeshifter (talk) 20:58, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please make a map of languages in Pakistan with percentage increment of 10%[edit]

The superb maps of languages of pakistan made by you can be made more awesome and convey more information if the percentages of 0-10,11-20 are shaded in different shades now they jump from 50-80% and 20-35% .They would be more accurate if 10% increment is shown Thanks. Please make them 2404:3100:1C01:91B3:1:0:C62E:2CEF 11:28, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
