Thanks for uploading File:CHH rocket dem w fire extinguisher Colgate ca 1980.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you.

Hi Aatist. Assuming in good faith that you are the copyright holder of this image, its quality is really not very good. You might want to try and upload a better version of it to use in the article or ask for help at COM:GL/P or even COM:HD for suggestion on how to upload a better version. As long as you really are the copyright holder (i.e., you took the photo and did not get it from someone or someplace else), then you can upload a higher quality version under the same license. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:20, 5 February 2018 (UTC);[Note: Post edited by Marchjuly to add the word "not". -- 10:36, 5 February 2018 (UTC)][reply]

Thank you for your input, MarchJuly. It is my photo, and I agree it's bad, but it's the best one I have. It was taken in dim light, from far away, with a low quality camera, and I thought it was better than nothing, I consider it temporary, and I will be happy for someone with a better one to replace it. Do you think it would be better to have no photo?
Aatist (talk) 02:30, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The photo is probably OK for Commons (at least licensewise), but someone on Wikipedia might feel the quality is not good enough for the article. Even free image use is not necessarily automatic; like textual content, image use disagreements are supposed to be resolved by article talk page consensus. I've seen poor quality freely licensed images removed before, so just don't be surprised if someone (it won't be me) decides to challenge its use. Maybe if you're from that area, you can try contacting her office and see if they might be interested in releasing a better image of her for upload to Commons. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:44, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I will ask the mayor's office if they will upload an appropriate photo. And if my photo is taken down, that will answer my question of whether or not it's better than nothing. Thanks again. Aatist (talk) 14:03, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
