What is "school districts in Michigan" in Bengali?

Hi again! en:Category:School districts in the United States has the Bengali category bn:বিষয়শ্রেণী:মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থা. I want there to be a Bengali version of en:Category:School districts in Michigan. What would this name be in Bengali?

Also, what is en:Category:Education in the United States in Bengali? I found bn:বিষয়শ্রেণী:ইলিনয়ের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় was wrongly put in the school district category. It needs to be in a "Education in the United States" and/or one of the following:

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2015 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the tenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2015) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1322 candidate images. There are 56 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category. In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 28 May 2016, 23:59:59 UTC.

Hello Aftabuzzaman,

I have noticed the the file File:Bangladesch Wahlkreiskarte.svg depicts the constituency borders after delimitation 2008. However, as I have recently seen there was another delimitation in 2013.

If I understand it right, 84 constituencies were delimited in 2008 and the boundaries of a further 50 or 53 (?) were redrawn in 2013 (e.g., see here: [1], [2]).

Could you perhaps find out which constituencies (numbers) were delimited in 2008 and which in 2013? Most of the publications of the Bangladesh Election Commission are in Bengali language, which I can't read ( :-( ). This would be very helpful to create new accurate maps for the election 2014 and elections before 2008.

thank you very much for your rapid respose. This article in the Dhaka Tribune is very helpful and I will have a look at it. Regarding the 2008 demarcation: there is a very large file (150 MB) on the web site of the Election Commission (Delimitation of Constituencies (2008) Book (150MB)) where they explain in the introduction that they have delimited 84 constituencies. Here are also articles mentioning this: [3], Point 2.2.4. I was also wondering, because I had the impression that there is no great difference between the elections 2008 and 2014 in terms of constituencies. --Furfur^{⁂ Diskussion} 19:25, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

@Furfur: Ya, you are right. there isn't any big differences. They just added/remove some union/upazila from one to another. for example:

Seat	in 2008	in 2013
Rangpur 1	Gangachara upazila	Gangachara upazila and following union of Rangpur sadar upazila: Haridevpur, uttam and parshuram
Rangpur 3	Rangpur sadar upazila	Rangpur sadar upazila (except following union: Haridevpur, uttam and parshuram)
Kurigram 2	Kurigram sadar upazila, Rajarhat upazila and Fulbari upazila	Kurigram sadar upazila, Rajarhat upazila (only following union: Rajahat, Chinai & Chakirposhar) and Fulbari upazila

@Sarang: i added translation for {{By}} but now it feel like machine translation, because currently it give result based on english grammar/sentence structure. Hi, I do not like so much your edit of that template. First, it is transcluded about 400.000 times; therefore I reduce editing of it to a bare minimum. Second, it uses only 44 times the "by"-option, ; but with your alteration, it performs at each transclusion two times the LangSwitch-check, exactly 392.920 times in vain - you know that LangSwitch operations belong to the expensive performs?
If it is such a problem to display the "by"-option correctly in bn, I will remove that language from the templates. Please, discuss such substantial alterations first, and do not make such edits on high used templates! If there is something wrong displayed in bn it shouldn't be solved that way!
I have some ideas how to solve it better; it would be less expensive to check e.g. {{#ifeq:{{int:lang}}|bn|...}} instead of with the LangSwitch. Now you may change the Template:F/beng as often as you want. It is a special solution and you need not to use the Template:I18n/by. সুপ্রিয় আফতাবুজ্জামান! উইকিমিডিয়া বাংলাদেশ-এর আয়োজনে দেশের সংরক্ষিত প্রাকৃতিক বনাঞ্চল ও এর জীববৈচিত্র্যের ছবি নিয়ে বাংলাদেশে তৃতীয়বারেরমত শুরু হচ্ছে উইকিপিডিয়ার ছবি প্রতিযোগিতা উইকি লাভস আর্থ ২০১৯। এক মাসব্যাপী স্থায়ী প্রতিযোগিতাটি ১ জুন, শনিবার থেকে ৩০ জুন পর্যন্ত চলবে।

প্রতিযোগিতা পাতায় দেয়া তালিকা থেকে বাংলাদেশের প্রাকৃতিক সংরক্ষিত অঞ্চলের যেকোনো সময় তোলা ছবি জুন মাসে জমা দিয়ে প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নেওয়া যাবে। প্রতিযোগিতায় একজন একাধিক ছবি জমা দিতে পারবেন। প্রতিযোগিতা শেষে প্রতিটি দেশ থেকে সেরা ১০টি ছবি আন্তর্জাতিক বিচারকদের কাছে পাঠানো হবে এবং সব দেশের ছবি থেকে সেরা ১৫টি ছবি আন্তর্জাতিকভাবে বিজয়ী ঘোষণা করা হবে। বিজয়ীদের জন্য আলাদাভাবে আন্তর্জাতিক ও জাতীয় পুরস্কার রয়েছে।

সমস্যা

@আফতাবুজ্জামান: আমি এতোদিনে এতোটা বিরক্ত হই নি যা আপনার দ্বারা ১-২ দিনে হলাম। আপনি আমার আপলোড আর ইডেট হিস্টোরি ঘেটে আমার সব পরিশ্রম নষ্ট করছেন। ৪-৫ মাসে যা আগ্রহ ছিলো আপনি তা ইচ্ছে করে শেষ করছেন,এইভাবে করলে কাজ করা যাবে না।আপনার আগে ও আমার আর্টিকেল /ফাইলে অন্য এডমিনরা ইডেট করেছে তাদের কোন সমস্যা ছিলো না। আপনি আমার পিছে উঠে পড়ে লাগসেন। আমি narail express foundation pronunciation তো বাংলা উইকির জন্য দেই নি কিন্তু কেউ যদি অযথা আমার পরিশ্রম নষ্ট করে আসলেই বিরক্ত লাগে। আপনাকে তো আমি বাংলায় করতে রিকুয়েষ্ট করি নাই,আর সেটা বাংলা উইকি বা কমন্সের জন্য ও আপলোড দেই নি। আমি ইংরেজি নামে আপলোড দিয়েছি যাতে অন্য দেশের মানুষ কারো লাগলে ব্যবহার করতে পারবে। আপনি আমার সাথে এইরকম করছেন কেনো, আপনি কি চান আমি উইকি ছেড়ে চলে যায়?? Important message for file movers

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
To perform file name swaps.
When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. আফতাব ভাই, Commons:File_renaming#Which_files_should_not_be_renamed? অনুসারে কোনো ফাইলের নাম ইংরেজি আছে তাই যেমন বাংলা করা যায় না, আবার বাংলা আছে তাই ইংরেজিও করা যায় না। আপনি হারহামেশাই ইংরেজি নামকে বাংলা নামে সরিয়ে নিচ্ছেন যা নীতিমালার পরিপন্থি। ফাইলের এ ধরনের নাম পরিবর্তন করা থেকে বিরত থাকার অনুরোধ করছি। — T. 17:05, 25 March 2020 (UTC)

@Wikitanvir: নিয়মে should not লেখা, Must দেখিনি। আমার জানামতে কাজটি উচিত নয় তবে নিষিদ্ধও নয় (ভালো কারণ সহকারে কাজটি হতে পারে, যদি চান আমি আপনাকে অন্যদের কর্তৃক শত শত উদাহরণ বের করে দিব)। খুব কম সময় নির্দেশিকার উচিতের বাইরে কাজটি করেছি। File:State of emergency.jpg কে File:করোনাভাইরাসের সংক্রমণ রোধে জরুরী অবস্থা.jpg নামে সরিয়েছি, কারণ ফাইলের বিষয়ের সাথে নাম অর্থহীন বা অস্পষ্ট আর যেহেতু ফাইলের বিষয়বস্তু বাংলা ও কেবল বাঙালি ব্যক্তিকে উদ্দেশ্য রেখে তৈরি, তাই বাংলা নামে দিয়েছি যেন মানুষ সহজে ফাইল খুঁজে পায়।

সাধারণত ভালো কারণ না থাকলে করি না, তবে হরহামেশাই শব্দটি সাথে একমত হতে পারলাম না। আপনি আমাকে ১০-১২টি উদাহরণ দেখান যে আমি হরহামেশাই ফাইলের নাম ইংরেজি থেকে বাংলা করার কাজটি করেছি (ogg/wav আর pdf ফাইল দেখাবেন না - Category:Books in Bengali এখানের সব ফাইলের শিরোনাম অবশ্যই বাংলা করতে হবে উইকিসংকলনের জন্য আর Category:Bengali pronunciation এখানের সব ফাইল "Bn-বাংলা নাম.ogg" অনুসারে হতে হবে, Category:Pronunciation এর পরামর্শ বা উপবিষয়শ্রেণীগুলিতে দ্রষ্টব্য)। আপনি আমার গত ৬-৭ বছরের অবদান খুঁজলে হয়ত ১০-১২টি এই রকম কাজ খুঁজে পাবেন। যে কাজ বলতে গেলে করি না তাকে হরহামেশা বলা ও যে কাজ নিষিদ্ধ নয় তা থেকে বিরত থাকতে বলার সতর্কতা আমার কাছে বোধগম্য হল না- যদি আমার আমি নিষিদ্ধ কাজ বা ধংসাত্মক হত তবে বিরত থাকতে বলতেন। সতর্কতা উচিত নয় পর্যায়ে থাকলেই ঠিক ছিল। --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 19:48, 25 March 2020 (UTC)

আফতাব ভাই, হারহামেশার বিষয়টি উপেক্ষা করতে পারেন (এটা প্রমাণ সাপেক্ষ ও আপেক্ষিক তাই সেই তর্কে এখন যাবো না। কিন্তু should not আর must not-এর যে পার্থক্যের কথা আপনি বলছেন সেটি আসলে খুব একটি ভালো যুক্তি হলো না। ভদ্রভাবে should not বলেই নিষেধ করা হয়, কারণ must not বললে সেটা বেশি রুঢ় হয়ে যাবে। আপনি এর আগে জাসদের ফাইলটিও মূল আপলোডার ইংরেজি ভাষায় আপলোড করার পর আপনি বাংলায় সরিয়ে নিয়েছেন। এখানেও একই ব্যাপার ঘটেছে। মূল আপলোডাকারী যদি কোনো ফাইল ইংরেজিতে নামকরণ করে আপলোড করেন তাই ধরেই নেওয়া যায় তিনি সেটি-ই পছন্দ করেন, কিন্তু আপনি বা আমি সেজন্য সেটিকে বাংলা নামে সরিয়ে নেওয়ার অধিকার রাখি না। তাই বিষয়টি একই সাথে অনুচিত ও সতর্কতামূলক। আমার ভাষা যদি আপনার মনে দুঃখ দিয়ে থাকে তবে সেজন্য আমি আন্তরিকভাবে দুঃখ প্রকাশ করছি। — T. 19:57, 25 March 2020 (UTC)

@Wikitanvir: জাসদের পতাকা উক্ত নামে বাংলা উইকিতে প্রথম আপলোড হয় কিন্তু কমন্সে আপলোডকারী কোন রকম সৌজন্যতা না দেখিয়েই সেটিকেই কমন্সে নিজের নামে আপলোড করেন। আমি মনে করে না, আমি অন্তত সর্বপ্রথম আপলোকারীর নামানুসারে নামকরণ করে ভুল করেছি। বাংলা নামে সরিয়ে নেওয়ার অধিকার রাখি না এটি কিন্তু তর্ক-বিতর্ক সাপেক্ষ কেননা যুক্তিসঙ্গত কারণ দেখিয়ে করা যেয়ে পারে বলে মনে করি। আমি প্রায়ই কমন্সে দেখি বহু লোক file name harmonization বা ফাইলের নাম সমন্বয় কারণ দেখিয়ে অন্য ভাষার ফাইলের নামকে ইংরেজিতে নামে নেন। আমি যদি যুক্তিসঙ্গত কারণ দেখিয়ে বাংলা নামে স্থানান্তর না করার অধিকার রাখি, তবে তারাও file name harmonization জাতীয় কারণ বলে ফাইলের নামকে ইংরেজি নামে নেয়ার অধিকার রাখেন না (নাকি তারা ইংরেজি নামে নিচ্ছে বলে তাঁদের ক্ষেত্রে একচোখ বন্ধ করে রাখা হয়ে থাকে), কেননা আমরা সকলেই জানি কমন্স বহুভাষিক প্রকল্প। তাঁদেরকেও একই সতর্কতা প্রদান করা উচিত। যাইহোক, এটি জেনে রাখুন আমার এই কাজ অতি বিরল। --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 20:40, 25 March 2020 (UTC)

সুপ্রিয় আফতাবুজ্জামান! উইকিমিডিয়া বাংলাদেশ-এর আয়োজনে দেশের সংরক্ষিত প্রাকৃতিক বনাঞ্চল ও এর জীববৈচিত্র্যের ছবি নিয়ে বাংলাদেশে চতুর্থবারেরমত শুরু হয়েছে উইকিপিডিয়ার ছবি প্রতিযোগিতা উইকি লাভস আর্থ ২০২০। এক মাসব্যাপী স্থায়ী প্রতিযোগিতাটি ১ জুন, সোমবার থেকে শুরু হয়ে ৩০ জুন পর্যন্ত চলবে।

প্রতিযোগিতা পাতায় দেয়া তালিকা থেকে বাংলাদেশের প্রাকৃতিক সংরক্ষিত অঞ্চলের যেকোনো সময় তোলা ছবি জুন মাসে জমা দিয়ে প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নেওয়া যাবে। প্রতিযোগিতায় একজন একাধিক ছবি জমা দিতে পারবেন। প্রতিযোগিতা শেষে প্রতিটি দেশ থেকে সেরা ১০টি ছবি আন্তর্জাতিক বিচারকদের কাছে পাঠানো হবে এবং সব দেশের ছবি থেকে সেরা ১৫টি ছবি আন্তর্জাতিকভাবে বিজয়ী ঘোষণা করা হবে। বিজয়ীদের জন্য আলাদাভাবে আন্তর্জাতিক ও জাতীয় পুরস্কার রয়েছে।

Can you add the border of South Sudan in File:Wikimedia chapters existing and regional user groups.svg, File:Wikimedia chapters.svg, and File:Wikimedia chapters existing.svg?

The war torn country where the internet is haphazard, has no Wikimedia chapter or regional user groups. So the color for the country is gray. Even the Dinka Wikipedia from South Sudan is barely active.

আলভী আহমদের ছবি প্রসঙ্গে

ভাই, আমি তাকে তার ছবিটি নিজেই কমন্সে আপলোড দিতে বলেছিলাম। তাকে বেশ কয়েকবার বুঝিয়েছি কিভাবে আপলোড করতে হয়। কিন্তু উনি বুঝতে না পেরে আমাকেই ছবিটি আপলোড করতে অনুরোধ জানান। উনি আমাকে ছবিটি ইমেইল করেন। আমি তা আপলোড করেছি। এখন ছবিটি বাংলা উইকিপিডিয়ায় লাইসেন্সসহই দিয়েছিলাম। দেওয়ার ১-২ মিনিট নাগাদই মহীন ভাই তা অপসারণ করেন। এখন নিবন্ধে ছবি সঙ্গতকারণেই প্রয়োজন। এখন উপায়? Regarding speedy versus nomination

Speedy deletion leaves one kind of trail. Nominating one photo (C) out of series that should all go to Copyvio leaves two trails in case this person tries this again in the future. কিছু ভুল করেছি

ভাই, ২০২০-এর অক্টোবরে আমি বাংলা উইকিতে অ্যাকাউন্ট খুলি, একটি নিবন্ধের মানোন্নয়নের উদ্দেশ্যে। ঐ নিবন্ধে কাজ করে আর সেভাবে উইকিতে আসিনি। সক্রিয় সম্পাদনা শুরু করি এ বছরের মার্চে। তখন পর্যন্ত উইকিতে ছবি কীভাবে যোগ করতে হয় জানতাম না। মার্চে জানলাম কমন্সে ছবি আপলোড করে তা উইকিতে ব্যবহার করা যায়। তখন ঐ আগের নিবন্ধের জন্যই এখানে ২টি ছবি আপলোড করি। এর মধ্যে এই লোগোটি প্রতিষ্ঠানের কর্ম উল্লেখ করে সিসি লাইসেন্সের অধীনে প্রকাশ করি। এটাতে কোনো ধরনের সমস্যা আছে কী? আর এই ছবিটি ফেসবুক থেকে নেয়া, কিন্তু নিজের নামেই প্রকাশ করি। এখানে নিশ্চিত ভুল করেছি। এখন আমার করণীয় কী? -- Md. Haseeb Afeef: যেহেতু এগুলি আপনার নিজের তোলা না, দুই ছবিতে {{speedy delete|author request}} যোগ করে দিন। ঠাকুরগাঁও সরকারি বালক উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ের লোগোটি অ-মুক্ত নীতিমালার আওতায় এখানে যেয়ে স্থানীয়ভাবে আপলোড করতে পারেন। তবে ফেসবুক থেকে নেওয়া বিদ্যালয়ের প্রশাসনিক ভবনের ছবিটি এখানে বা বাংলা উইকিতে কোথাও আপলোড করা যাবে না (এটার জন্য অ-মুক্ত নীতিমালা প্রযোজ্য হবে না)। --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 15:03, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

আর বিমান বাহিনীর লোগোটি ইনশাআল্লহ আগামীকালকেই ঠিক করার চেষ্টা করব।
