This user is in fact affiliated with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Content the user posts that appears to be a copyvio from the USHMM is OK -- gave permission via OTRS ticket ticket #2007071910012533. — Preceding unsigned comment added by USHMM (talk • contribs) 19:16, 2 August 2007‎ (UTC).

The unsigned note above was, as the {{Unsigned}} template says, posted by User:USHMM himself. The cited OTRS ticket does not, in fact, mention the username "USHMM", although it mentions a similar one. Whether that is a simple mistake or identity theft by this user is unknown. .     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 10:22, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

Wow! Awesome ignorance of Occam's Razor and AGF seems to be evident. But the content of the OTRS ticket is unknown to this user so whether they are evident is unknown.--Elvey (talk) 03:23, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

Jameslwoodward - Does the similar username mentioned in the OTRS ticket the name of an actual user account, or is it something like User:USHM - "Not a registered username"? --Elvey (talk) 03:28, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
We never assume good faith when the uploads are not the work of the uploader. The fact that User:USHMM has told us that he is named in the OTRS ticket when, in fact, he is not, blows away any good faith. As for Occam's Razor, in fact, the simplest explanation in cases like this is identity theft.
Although the account mentioned in the OTRS ticket is, as I said above, similar in some respects to "USHMM", the differences are not a simple change of a letter or two. The account named is not now registered.
There is no reason to assume good faith or, indeed, make any assumptions at all here. All that a representative of the USHMM needs to do to upload works whose copyright is owned by the Museum is to use the account named in the ticket or to write a new e-mail to OTRS and name a new one. .     Jim . . . . OK. @USHMM: well? (Edit: Oh well; last edit was years ago.) --Elvey (talk) 20:42, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
