Big Brutus

Big Brutus” was the second largest shovel of its type in operation from 1963 until 1974. It is located near the small city of West Mineral in Cherokee County.

Parsons

Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons, Kansas opened on June 1, 1872. The Grand Army of the Republic, Antietam Post No. 64 was organized on June 2, 1882 by Civil War Veterans living in Parsons. Lots were purchased in May of 1886 for Circle No. 1 and in 1889 for Circle No. 2.
