  • Uplads should be impossible without using the proper templates, because otherwise unlicensed files cannot be found easily.

the nomination was unlawful in the first place, the DEL was also unlawful (no policy is covering this issue). Better a small sized img than nothing. “There is nothing to undelete” … not nice to say ... --Mateus2019 (talk) 18:33, 26 June 2023 (UTC) verdict: "per nomination" ("Too small resolution to be meaningful therefore unlikely education use."). Not a valid reason in my opinion, because one can see an object (just cant read much). The second try to undelete this file turned out bad, too. --Mateus2019 (talk) 18:16, 24 August 2023 (UTC)

My 200,000th Commons edit experiences

Getting started in February 2005, I wasn't too active until mid-2006. In 2008 and 2009, working at Commons was a major activity in my spare time.
What changed since 2005? Commonscat software, display of category content "(23C,99P)" and most recently (by default) MediaWiki:Gadget-HotCat.js which accelerates work and also protects double entries in one file ("Guard against double inclusions").

My self-made and self-uploaded photograph of a Lufthansa logo (?) has been deleted per "dev" (?) → Admin informed (no definite answer) Undeletion request is still undone.
Deletion of Category:Painters by alphabet incl. sub-categories :-(

Gedanken zum Kategoriensystem und zur Kategorienpflege

  • Ständig kommen neue Bilder, die meisten kommen in ein Sammelbecken (wenn sie überhaupt kategorisiert werden), anstatt in die korrekte Kategorien der letzten Ebenen ... was später mühsam durch einzelnes Aufrufen wieder sortiert werden muß. Solange wir noch im Wachstum sind und für eine Kategorie Zuordnungspotential besteht, ist die Einrichtung von Kategorien mit zunächst wenig Zuordnungen von vornherein sinnvoll
  • Es ist besser, wenn kleinräumige Kategorien vernünftig erstellt werden (Benennung, Ober-Kat., Sortierschlüssel), als wenn Ungeübte sie falsch anlegen (z.B. Sprache, Hierarchien, Plural/Singular, Pipe).
  • ...
