I'm Chris Mitchell, and live in Leicester. I have a PhD from the University of Leicester in medieval history (specifically looking at the production of an astrological textbook from the twelfth century deriving from Arabic sources), and am interested in the history of science, astrology, astronomy, and enjoy walking and leisurely cycling.

Travel is another of my interests, and taking photos of my travels, as well as various quirky things. I've shared some of these images on Wikimedia Commons.

I'm interested in all sorts of cuisines - both eating and cooking.
