Astrology, necessarily need not be a conventional study that we are seeing today. I am looking to know the root cause of the rules created in astrology

Ex. Who introduced planetary aspects in astrology ?
In what means it is said planets cast aspects ? are they really casting aspects or is there a geometry behind it ?

Who introduced concept of varga chakkras (divisional charts) in astrology ?
What is the math & geometry behind these calculations ?
