My name is Annette, but I go by my website name, eduscapes. I'm an active user of Wikimedia Commons and have decided it's time to give back.

Interests[edit]

I'm interested in both the natural and cultural history of the Colorado Plateau region of the United States.

Having taken thousands of photos throughout the American West, I plan to upload images related to the flora, fauna, and geology.

A member of our history group suggested that we identify Wikipedia article needs related to the history of the American West and specifically southern Utah. We were amazed that no one had written an article on Almon Harris Thompson. I volunteered to get the ball rolling by learning the ins and outs of article creation using Almon Harris Thompson as our first project. As I developed this project, I uploaded public domain photos of Almon Harris Thompson to Wikimedia Commons.

Personal life[edit]

I’ve been a teacher, school librarian, technology coordinator, and college professor. I’m currently a library science professor focusing on the past, present, and future of libraries. I teach courses in the area of children and young adult resources and technologies, information inquiry and instruction, and library history.
