"It's snowing": normally, the snow flocs are too small, fall too fast, there isn't enough light, visibility and contrast and you get only a blur.

Exposure

Monochrome images with shades and gloss get more "3D" effect (volume) as color images.

White dunes, snowy landscapes and white flowers under sun light get easily overexposed and vice versa.
