The Sea Change Trust[edit]

The Sea Change Trust is a South African non profit organisation (section 18A South African Public Benefit Organisation) based in Cape Town that has media advocacy to protect the South African marine environment at its core. Founded in May 2012 by Craig Foster and Ross Frylinck, the organisation was the first to develop the concept of The Great African Sea Forest, and their goal is to have it declared an UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site.

Foster and Frylinck have undertaken hundreds of hours of underwater exploration and have documented a variety of marine animals and unique animal behaviour in the Kelp Forests of False Bay near Cape Town, important to their mission of conserving the kelp forests.

Craig Foster is an award-winning filmmaker and naturalist.

Ross Frylink is a surfer and free-diver and creator of the Wavescape Surf Ocean Festival.

Carina Rubin-Frankal is chairperson and executive producer for the Sea Change Trust.
