Which template to use with other file extensions[edit]

If there is one jpg and one png version of a file, which template should be used then? And should another template be used on the SVG version of a file? Like ”raster version available on File:F.png”.Jonteemil (talk) 18:48, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In such a case, the template would be used on both the PNG and the JPEG, and those files would be linked from at the SVG in the 'other versions' parameter of the information template. Arlo James Barnes 15:14, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to create this chart in grayscale for publishing in a B&W text environment. How do I do that? Srcsteve86 (talk) 23:52, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Finding pages with this template that are linked to on pages on other projects?[edit]

Hi! I was wondering if there's some sort of tool that can find files marked as superseded by an SVG that are linked to on the other Wikimedia projects? It would be great to be able to go through and find ones to replace. DemonDays64 (talk) 07:04, 30 September 2020 (UTC) (please ping on reply)[reply]

Agreed, that would be handy. Arlo James Barnes 15:14, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect wording[edit]

{{Edit request}}

The template, when expanded, currently places the following text on the page:

(filename).svg is a vector version of this file. It should be used in place of this SVG file when not inferior.

The use of “SVG” in the second sentence is clearly wrong. The SVG should be used in place of the non-SVG. I recommend simply removing the “SVG” so that it should read

(filename).svg is a vector version of this file. It should be used in place of this file when not inferior.

 Not done Timwi, I can't reproduce, e.g. on File:Nl-arms.gif it doesn't show "this SVG file". Could you give an example case where it is wrong and specify the interface language this happens in? Best, --Marsupium (talk) 08:53, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Parameters[edit]

None of the parameters seem to be working. Piotr Bart (talk) 13:22, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
