Documentation[edit]

..would sure be nice. Like what is the unit of that third radius parameters to {{Coor URL}}, (which is also undocumented, sigh)? -- Slaunger (talk) 20:52, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Coor URL is just a text string containing the base location of the geohack script. The third parameter is not is use yet. You are supposed to use Commons:Geocode Users to make your box anyways. --Dschwen (talk) 21:06, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I was actually looking for hints to how I can possibly incorporate it in my Babel box. It looks like crap when it is freely floating on my user page. Would it not be cool by the way if all user pages which has this template on was associated with a category, like Category:User pages with a location? The category could be hidden if we do not want to spam the list of categories underneath each user page.
Documentation would still be nice though. Like at least referring to the page you just did ;-) -- Slaunger (talk) 21:12, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Perfect! -- Slaunger (talk) 21:19, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(ec)One of the reasons for having the category suggested above was that I was looking for other user pages, to see how other (much smarter) users have managed to place it, such that it looks good. The only user page I stumbled over (by taking a wild guess), was yours, but here it was just transcluded without anything fancy being done. -- Slaunger (talk) 21:26, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Where did you find out about this template? Nobody is reacting to my posts. We can add a category any time (although I'd propose to make it refer to the user rather than to the user page in the category name, such as Users with locations, analogous to Media with locations). --Dschwen (talk) 21:22, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ehm I have the Mediawiki talk Sitenotice on my watchlist from the time where VI was announced... and the template is linked to from the post you just made at COM:VP. Although nobody reacts, some may actually have read it... Agree on the category name you suggest.-- Slaunger (talk) 21:26, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Quick question regarding the category name. We already have Category:Users by location. Is it clear what the difference is between this existing category and a new Category:Users with location by looking at the category name alone? As a matter of fact, after reviewing the contents of Category:Users by location I am inclined to think Category:Users by continent would have been a more appropriate name. -- Slaunger (talk) 21:36, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Go-go-gadgetto-category-rename. --Dschwen (talk) 22:10, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Geocoordinates are far more specific that a continent or country or even city. It should be a subcategory of the 'Users by location' category. We should have a Wikipedia version of this template too. Richard001 (talk) 02:33, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, not really. Decimal digits sometimes suggest a high degree of accuracy, but you can never know if the user just plugged the pin somewhere close to his house town or even country on the map. Making it a subcategory of 'Users by location' doesn't seem right to me. Those are a different beast. --Dschwen (talk) 03:47, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. I have suggested to rename Category:Users by location to Category:Users by country for consistency with our normal category structure. -- Slaunger (talk) 06:20, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Including into a Babbel Box[edit]

Hi, how can this Template be integrated into a Babbel Box? Is this possible? --Stefan-Xp (talk) 09:02, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
