Not PD[edit]

The website referred to states: "By clicking on a road sign [...] you can download the sign in different file formats usable for illustrations and printed matters. The files can be used freely for such purposes.". This indicates a "by permission" license, and the limits of this license are quite unclear. Further clarification from Statens vegvesen might be necessary to decide if the images are acceptable on Commons. Cnyborg 16:15, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are two issues here - one is using the sign for printing and illustration purposes (which is OK with Statens vegvesen), the other is using the sign along roads. Norwegian law prohibits setting up official road signs, it's only the government that is allowed to set up official road signs. ZorroIII 12:19, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
