The purpose of 2

If I understand correctly, it provides a visible text for the link to the wikipedia’s main page. But I do not understand an idea behind it. IMHO, this visible text should invariably be a reference to the appropriate wikipedia in the reader’s language, and may not depend on context. What do I miss? The new code is fully internationalized, more simple and it can be used with all the Wikimedia projects. --Angelus^(talk) 16:56, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

There wil be no change to this template until the usage has been somewhat standardized, just too many variations in use which are obviously not covered by your version. Especially as this change would affect other templates relying on this one like GFDL-user-xx ones. --Denniss (talk) 17:53, 4 May 2014 (UTC)
