That's weird, because {{Copyright by Wikimedia}} has a link leading to meta:Wikimedia visual identity guidelines, and what I can understand of it is that logos owned by the Wikimedia Foundation are not free, but can be included within files without problems, provided that, as a copyrighted content + a trademark, they must not be modified + must be non-confusing and non-disparaging. What do you think about the following proposal?
GNU

This is a screenshot of a Wikipedia web page. Wikipedia text is licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). The MediaWiki software that runs Wikipedia is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

Logos (if they appear in this screenshot) of the Wikimedia Foundation are copyrighted and their use is subject to special guidelines.

Note on licenses: Please note that the GFDL is only for text documentations or other forms of text and their derivatives, while software and its derivatives, text, and other types of works may use the GPL. The actual contents of Wikipedia are licensed under the GFDL, but the interface design of Wikipedia and all other portions of the MediaWiki software are licensed under the GPL.

As such, portions of this screenshot may be licensed under two separate licenses. The GPL and GFDL are not the same license; they are only connected through the Free Software Foundation, the creator of the licenses.

(I'm talking about the {{Wikipedia-screenshot}} which is transcluded here). Diti the penguin 00:04, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Firefox 3.5+[edit]

The logo files in Firefox 3.5+ are under the Mozilla tri-license, though trademarked. --AVRS (talk) 11:19, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

MPL 2.0[edit]

According to [1] since some version, most of the Firefox source code is now under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. I’ve mentioned in Template:MTL/doc some issues that come with that. If the new Firefox is not under the Mozilla tri-license with MPL 1.1 anymore, a new FirefoxWiki template is needed for it. --AVRS (talk) 20:04, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
