Image above translations[edit]

See Template:Categorise and Template:CatDiffuse. How can the image be put above the translation section? This would make the templates a little narrower, and this is important so people don't have to scroll down as far to get past these templates to get to the categories.

Before the templates were changed to use {{Cmbox}} the image did not intrude into the translation section. --Timeshifter (talk) 04:09, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Language bars are no longer needed or used. Image placement is now standardized by using type=diffuse and a simple format. I simplified the layout of these 3 diffusion templates:

This template appears to be a historical en.WP relic, see {{Imbox}} or {{Ambox}} which have already been redirected. The style differences are/were only minor, therefore I hereby suggest merging this template into the main one.    FDMS  4    23:37, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's OK by me, as long as it looks the same in the end. Or close. As long as the same image can be chosen for these templates:

Initially, I wanted to create a new "diffuse" type for {{Mbox}}. Now that I thought more about it, I think there a five options:
1.  using notice
2.  using growth (con: diffuse isn't positive and therefore shouldn't be green)
3.  using move (pro: otherwise infrequently used, move is somewhat similar to diffuse)
4.  creating a new type with the current colours
5.  using a custom style (style parameter)
Personally, I think options 1 and 3 would make the most sense, but if you insist that we should use another one that shouldn't impede the merger.    FDMS  4    00:16, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Colors don't matter to me. So any of the banners is fine. I doubt most people notice the colors much, or understand the reasoning for the different border and background colors. I was more concerned with the ability to choose an image, and the placement of the image. I like narrow banners, and so the image to the left of the text (versus above or below it) keeps the banner narrow. The banner doesn't take up much vertical space. That is important at the top of category pages. Especially if there are multiple banners. --Timeshifter (talk) 06:07, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest to replace all Cmbox in the template namespace:[1] and tag the Cmbox as {{Deprecated}}!?User: Perhelion (Commons: = crap?)  13:28, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
