Keep up with the Wikipedia version?[edit]

This comment from 2005 was acted on in Wikipedia:

The Creative Commons license includes the statement: "Attribution. You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor." This template does not appear to support the inclusion of an attribution statement and I'd suggest that it be modified to allow such inclusion, for instance as a pipe-included parameter that would display the "attribute as" statement within the license box but below the license definition string. Images copied from wikipedia that have attribution info shown in the share-alike tag are not showing it in the commons. E.g. see this image recently copied over: Image:Harpe_de_lumiere.jpg and compare to the en.wikipedia version.

new CC-BY symbol[edit]

Thank you for replacing the old attribution symbol by the new one: Image:cc-by new.svg. Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 19:08, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Two links to the license[edit]

Why is the official license linked twice in this template? Just once (the first one) seems enough to me. It might be confusing for a reader. Husky 17:49, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yea, maybe. I was worried that not everyone understand they should click on the first link? / Fred Chess 00:28, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Derivatives[edit]

The license currently says, "and that you distribute it only under a license identical to this one", but that might not make it clear enough that your derivatives must also be licensed under the identical license, since the "it" would seem to refer to the file and not the derivatives. Should it instead say "and that you distribute it or any derivatives under a license identical to this one"? BlastOButter42 03:32, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License "identical to this one"[edit]

The actual CC license doesn't say that. It says it can be a license identical OR similar to this. 76.10.161.205 17:56, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, in theory that's true, however they don't recognize any other license as being similar enough. On the list of "Choose any of these similar licenses" there is nothing. So in practise it must be cc-by-sa-2.5  — Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 13:52, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Delink "this file"[edit]

{{editprotected}} Hi, this template has a link on "this file". This link should be removed as it only creates a link to the image itself, thus preventing images with this template from showing up on the "Unused files list". Thanks, -- ChrisiPK (Talk|Contribs) 13:06, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

el=en[edit]

How come, that instead of Greek, the template says English? Syp (talk) 22:56, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

noinclude[edit]

{{Editprotected}}

Please remove everything from the noinclude section except {{Documentation}}. Categories and documentation are stored on documentation subpage, interlanguage links are on Wikidata (except those what doesn't exist anymore). --Tacsipacsi (talk) 16:05, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
