|migration=not-eligible vs redundant[edit]

according to Commons:License Migration Task Force/Migration it should be =redundant instead of |migration=not-eligible. If I understand correctly. Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 00:43, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • When I looked at the equivalent template on the German Wikipedia I did not see a cc-by-sa migration clause. Since this is their "neu" template I assume this is their way of dealing with the migration issue and allowing people not to multi-license, if they so choose. The link you give mentions as one of its criteria, to be considered "eligible" for relicensing, "Must have been uploaded to Commons or to some other Wikimedia project before August 1, 2009.". These files are not eligible for relicensing under the provisions of GFDL 1.3, therefore. If the uploader so chose to add cc-by-sa that is their choice, but that does not make relicensing under this template "redundant". These files are not eligible for relicensing, since they were uploaded after August, 2009. -Nard (Hablemonos)(Let's talk) 11:58, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Nard, you are right! I misinterpreted Commons:License Migration Task Force/Migration and clarified it there. Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 12:31, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

redirect[edit]

I think we should just redirect this to GFDL. When transfering from de-wiki bot often adds both a GFDL and a Bild-GFDL-Neu so nothing is saved. Also some might wonder if there is a difference bewteen GFDL and Bild-GFDL-Neu. --MGA73 (talk) 20:11, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is essentially a redirect to GFDL... -Nard (Hablemonos)(Let's talk) 20:20, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
