How to use this template[edit]

{{Audio2|En-us-George W. Bush.ogg|George Walker Bush}} -> George Walker Bush (listen)

  • parameter 1: file name (no "Image:" prefix)
  • parameter 2: text to be linked (link is to the file description page)

See also {{Audio}}.

Nesting problem[edit]

Any idea why nesting this inside a language template (like {{En}}) fails to work? For example [1]. I'd hoped that the lack of a matching </span> had something to do with it, but no such luck (I see mediawiki was already fixing that - apparently it tries to be smart when applying templates, which makes it hard to figure out what's going on at times). Audio2 nests fine inside an {{Information}} template, on the other hand. --Davepape 20:41, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template nesting fails whenever the nested template contains a |, as far as I know. Really stinks. :-/ --Gmaxwell 20:50, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
On top of that, a URL with a ? also appears to break it. --Davepape 21:44, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Size[edit]

I would add the file size as optional parameter --Mac 06:01, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Play in browser" fails[edit]

The underlying link for "play in browser" (http://tools.wikimedia.de/~gmaxwell/jorbis/commonsJOrbisPlayer.php?path={{{1}}}) fails with "403: User account expired". This option should be fixed or removed. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:59, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

@Michael Bednarek: Removed. Fortunately modern browsers play Orbis natively (maybe this is why the Toolserver tool was abandoned), so most users will be able to play it in their browsers anyway. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 14:55, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
