English: The date is the x day of the year (x + 1 in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar. There are 365 - x days remaining until the end of the year.
Esperanto: La dato estas la x-a tago de la jaro (x + 1-a en superjaroj) laŭ la Gregoria kalendaro. Ĝis la fino de la jaro tiam restas 365 − x tagoj (366 − x en superjaroj).
This template is the article lead for the pages January 1 through December 31, but is not used on February 29. The template is not supposed to be a countdown clock for the current year, but rather should be a consistent lead that produces the same output regardless of the current year. So far it is only tested for 2008. The template looks complex but it needs to account for {{#time:z}} being leap year sensitive.
