Rhychaenus fagi Beech Leaf Mining Weevil

The R.fagi is very common. It lives and feeds on Fagus. Laying eggs in the leaves and feeding on them. The result to the tree is leaves with internal tissue removed, harming the photosynthetic capability, but generally no more than a aesthetic problem. Never fatal.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.16.10.153 (talk • contribs) 19 September 2008‎ (UTC)
