Number of sides versus number of results

A D3 has three results, not three sides. Dice are sorted by their function, not by the technicalities of their design. It's very problematic to remove dice with unusual numbers of sides and results; a normal D3 has six sides, for example, and the fact that there are D4s with 12 sides is part of the variety that this gallery is designed to implement.--Prosfilaes (talk) 01:00, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

Higher vertex count

D1 ball should be kept

User:ElliottBelardo: Why remove the D1 ping pong ball? I know it's a trivial example of a one-sided die, but arguably, so is the Möbius die. (Plus, I think it's funny.) My point is that the D1 ball should be acceptable even if it was originally added as a joke since there aren't any non-trivial examples of one-sided dice in the first place. If you don't feel very strongly about the edit, may I revert it? CubeBag (talk) 00:19, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

Personally I feel that the D1 ball should at least have a better image since it did start out as a joke, but if people like it so much, then go ahead and revert. ElliottBelardo (talk) 15:38, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

D3 (3-sided) coin

Technically a coin is/can be a D3, it can land on its edge, and a sufficiently thick coin would be a fair D3. It would be kinda nice to include it as a semi-humorous example which illustrates a point, like the D1. Don't know if anyone has a good image (A thick 'coin' would probably be preferable, or both a thick and normal thickness one as fair/unfair examples). 176.251.175.52 19:09, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
