Arabic Numerals?[edit]
Should't this page rather be called Hindu-Arabic Numerals? The fact is that it was the Indians who invented this system of digits in combination with the positional system of writing numbers and their use in numerical calculations. The Arabs, however, served as intermediaries, and the system became introduced into Europe through the translation of Arabic writings on the topic. 888n8 (talk) 14:26, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
