Name

[edit]

I have renamed the article from Република Македонија into Macedonia, since in Macedonian the country is known simply as Macedonia (i say this since the name is in Macedonian). Република Македонија directs here end the region is called Етничка Македонија and Регион Македонија on Macedonian. Thanks.--MacedonianBoy (talk) 19:49, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Coat of arms

[edit]
CoA of the PR of Macedonia

Who said that there is no description. There is a description, in the Law on the Coat of arms of the People's Republic of Macedonia (July 27, 1946) which shows a different CoA than your preffered File:Coat of arms of PR of Macedonia.png. The source you also used (the Kanal 5 Television) also painted yellow poppy buds.

Also, on the first page of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Macedonia, published in Služben vesnik on January 1st, 1947 there is a clear description of the Coat of arms. In that issue (number 1/47) the Constitution of the PR of Macedonia was published. The Constitution was passed on the session of the Assembly on December 31, 1946. The provisions of the Constitution changed the provisions of the Law on the Coat of arms of the People's Republic of Macedonia.

The Macedonian Heraldry Association consider the yellow version as the most official version. Please do not delete it from this article.

There is no description about the colours. If you can read Macedonian you can see that there is no description of the colours, neither in this document nor in the next ones. Plus the document that you are referring to is the COA of People's Republic of Macedonia. Please do not delete the text. --MacedonianBoy (talk) 13:27, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
PS: See here about the all COA of Macedonia and you will find the section where says: There is no description of the colours.--MacedonianBoy (talk) 13:35, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
(1) I have not deleted the text. as you put it, while on the other hand you did just that. You have removed the red version which was used in the time of Branko Crvenkovski (sadly enough, the current president has no preffered colour).
(2) Jonovski said that there were no description of the colours, but we have:
(2a) Jonovski who use the yellow version
(2b) World Intellectual Property Organization which stores the yellow version
(3) The reconstruction of the CoA of the People's Republic of Macedonia (first version) from the Nova Makedonija and the second version from the Constitution of the PR of Macedonia. These were both coats of arms of the People's Republic of Macedonia, and not just the first version.
(3a) The current version of the file File:PRofMacedoniaCoa.png portrays false coloured poppy buds, because the Nova Makedonija portrayed the top poppy buds (on each side of the wreath) as lighter coloured and lower poppy buds (also on each side) as darker colour.
Stop deleting the text on the yellow version and on the red version also.

You have obviously made an mistake with your revert since there is the yellow version too. Do not delete the explanation about the COA and stop vandalizing. You can see from the speech of the president of the Macedonian Heraldry Ass. that there is not depiction of the colours (this is the person that you respect right?) and it should be mentioned it in the article. I have accepted your suggestion about adding the yellow version and I did add it. Salute.--MacedonianBoy (talk) 19:40, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
PS: We should use reliable sources such as the current Law of the COA of Macedonia where there is no description about the colours. There is no where description about the colours in fact and that's why we have such confusion about this right? Be brave and say so.--MacedonianBoy (talk) 19:42, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is not true, that there were no defined colours because Jonovski used yellow and the Government of the SR Macedonia sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the SFR Yugoslavia the Coat of arms of the SR Macedonia to the WIPO, which CoA use the yellow version. Also there exists no Law on the CoA of Macedonia, but the CoA was described in the Constitution of the SR Macedonia in 1946-12-31. There is a Law on Usage of the symbols, but that is a very different Law.
