English: Shaldon is a civil parish and village in South Devon, England. It is located to the south of the River Teign, opposite Teignmouth. Shaldon had a population of 1,628 in 2001.

Shaldon[edit]

The village of Shaldon is on the south bank of the Teign Estuary, near to its mouth.

Ringmore[edit]

Ringmore is a small hamlet to the west of Shaldon.

River Teign[edit]

The River Teign flows 31 miles (50 km) from Dartmoor, to meet the sea between Shaldon and Teignmouth.

The Ness[edit]

The Ness is a prominent headland opposite Teignmouth, and is where the River Teign meets the sea.

Coast[edit]

The coastline of Shaldon extends south for about 2 miles (3 km) from the mouth of the Teign towards Torbay.

Countryside[edit]

Shaldon is a relatively small parish dominated by the River Teign, but there are some rural areas.
